Another one from the massive LPdT order, and another one of the ones that I was very excited about trying. Just the name!

Taste the word. Toffeeeeeee. It’s an onomatopoeia (look it up), that word.

The aroma of these leaves! I- it’s- they- I’m- SWOONS!

They’re all chocolate-y and vanilla-y, and all in all it turns into, like, super-caramel, even though it doesn’t actually say anything about there being caramel anywhere in this at all. But there must be, mustn’t there? Or how could they call it toffee?

After steeping, it’s the same picture of super-caramel. It’s smells all rich and butter-y. It’s like a vanilla fudge! It smells like a sweetie shop! Even if I find I don’t like the flavour I might still make it now and then just to smell it.

This is either really really REALLY good, or it’s unbearably cloying. I’m concerned now. pokes it

OH my CEILING CAT!

You! Guys!

There are NO WORDS!

First some cocoa, then vanilla and then a soft, fudge-y, butter caramel-y finish.

You know how I always said that Kusmi’s caramel black was my perfect caramel? Let’s just say it suddenly has competition.

I’m in no state to be more detailed than this. I’m so blown away, I can’t think. Socks are well and truly knocked into orbit.

Toffeee

Steepsterites! I have a book recommendation for those of you who enjoy fantasy and humour. Run, do not walk, to check out the Skulduggery Pleasant series by Derek Landy. Personally, I have in my little paws the newest book in the series and I? I am going to be awol until I’m done. I’m already trying to come up with a way to do tomorrow morning’s c25k jogging while also reading. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this are welcome!

While we are reading, we should consume nommy tea, yes? I’m a total sucker for a good caramel black, as you may or may not know. Bit like vanilla, really. The only difference being that with caramel and caramel-y flavours, I’ve already found the two that are perfect for me, one being Caramel from Kusmi, and the other being Toffee from Le Palais des Thes. I realise that the latter is not technically caramel, but somehow it still manages to come close enough that it counts. When it comes to vanilla, I’m still searching (and slowly losing hope that perfection exists)

So this, one of my favourite teas for sheer indulgence (or comfort when such is needed) is going to be my book-companion for the rest of the evening. It’s a 17:30 now. How many hours do you think I’ll need to plow through this book? I’ll see you on the other side, Steepsterites. Right now, Ang is BUSY! :D

(squeeeeeeeeee flail!!! )

Thank you NofarS for this swap.

The tea whilst raw has a sweet yet dark vanilla essence that resembles vanilla toffee sweets.

Once brewed the tea has a delicious sweet toffee/fudge smell that makes me want to devour it. I adore fudge, it remembers me of childhood holidays in Cornwall and visiting handmade fudge shops.

A drop of milk has been added. A few sips reveal a smooth, dark liquid treacle affair that is not chemical in taste. Added a zero calorie sugar. The sugar has made it much more toffee like with it’s added sweetness and the vanilla appears to be stronger. The black tea is in the background and I cannot say much about it especially… it’s not malty or floral…perhaps the best I can say is that it’s rich.

A nice blend that is tasty enough to cure my fudge cravings. Delicious!

I bought this tea today since my Golden Monkey Tea has yet to arrive in the mail and I felt like I needed something new to taste. I went to Le Palais de The, looked around, bought some Milk Oolong (hoping that it will be worth the price – it’s waiting for my gaiwan to arrive), and this tea, based on a review in teaviews.
I do not like flavoured teas, so buying this tea was adventurous of me. The smell is overpowering – almost like a cough syrup sweetness. I choked on it. But I decided to buy and brew. The instructions suggest brewing for 4-5 minutes, but I was worried that the tea would be too strong to my liking, and so opted to go by sight and steep for less time (2.5 min). The tea is a bright red with a yellow halo, and the smell, though not very far from my original impression, has toned down somewhat to a very rich toffee smell.
The tea is creamy, with no astringency, and tastes very much like a rich toffee with a slight vanilla and toffee aftertaste. At two and a half minutes brewing time the toffee flavour is gentle – more of a hint than a definitive, overpowering flavour. I liked it enough to try brewing it for 4 minutes next time. The tea is sweet enough to not warrant adding sugar. Not an everyday treat for me, but definitely worth a re-brew, to make my final opinion on it. Not sure that I like it – has a definite powerful chemical taste to it that I’m not sure that I like

Tried this with milk, brewed stronger. It tastes like a cough syrup to me. A very chemical taste to it – probably from the added tastes. No no no no no.
Going to chuck this away and brew a proper cup of tea
