This getting dark earlier really messes with my internal clock. For about the next two weeks, I’ll be completely sloth-like and will only want to curl up and hibernate at the first hint of darkness in the evenings. Then I’ll get over it, and will resume a regular sleep schedule (hopefully with no insomnia spells). So I’m going to have a big pot of this to soothe me to sleep tonight…it’s definitely perfect for that.

Backlogging. Last Monday night.

A surprise inclusion in a tea swap with LiberTeas. I"m not a chamomile fan, unless it’s a less noticeable flavor in a blend, so I’ll admit that I wasn’t sure if I’d like this one. But the colorful dry tisane and barely there chamomile smell got my hopes up about its drinkability.

Nocturne, as I like to call it, has a happy multi-colored dry tisane, containing small lavender colored seeds, larger purple hued pieces ranging from royal purple to magenta, chamomile flowers, very large sheer flower petals, and golden green honeybush chippies. It smells of the distinct floral scent of lavender foremost, with a bit of chamomile and the sweetness of the honeybush beneath it.

I steeped up a mugful using the steeping parameters in Liberteas tealog for it. Fragrant and inviting, darker than I expected. I taste lavender, only a bit of chamomile, sweetness from the honeybush, and just a hint of tart from the hibiscus. This tea is unique. I was expecting something similar to a sleepytime blend.

I gave it a second steep cause I usually try one for each new tea. Surprisingly for a tisane, it was moderate in strength, compared to the first steep, and flavorful. I enjoyed consuming it.

I’m rating this tisane a 70, right on the border between nice and good (nice = 60-70, good = 70-80).

2nd steep: 9 min 30 sec.

A subtle blend of flavors w/lavender predominating and chamomile providing its buttery note. As this blend has lots of ingredients from honeybush, hibiscus, chamomile, hops, and lemon myrtle, it is like a relaxing, night-time “chai”. Luckily, for me, the hibiscus is not noticeable and really, this is not too lemony either. Just a smooth tisane.

I have been drinkning this for the last several nights and have been enjoying this as my last drink of the evening….And liking it more each time….

Firstly a Big Thank-You to LiberTEAS for giving me this sample, and an apology for not trying it before today!

I just found this at the bottom of a box filled with various pouches and other samples, and despite being a Tuesday morning I decided what I really wanted was a nice calming cup of tea ..

And that’s exactly what this is .. It’s such a pretty mix of dried flowers, both looking and smelling like a sweet potpourri .. I recognized the Chamomile, Lavender, and Hop, but wasn’t sure about the rest until I read it’s description here on Steepster ..

I’m actually not a fan of Chamomile and was a little concerned that it would take over the brew, however this is mixed in such a skilled way that it’s not dominated by any one flavour .. I’m truly loving this blend, and yet saddened that she is no longer selling, because I honestly would like to keep this in my cupboard ..

I guess I’ll have to try and create something myself as I grow all of these ingredients except the Hibiscus & Honeybush .. So if anyone has ideas on other mixes to include, or similar blends to try, please do share ..

For now I’m going to try re-steeping what’s in my pot as my cup’s run dry and I’m really loving this tea!

edited to add Second steep has a lot more ‘apple’ like notes which may be due to the Chamomile, or possible the Honeybush/Hibiscus? It’s YUM :D

Without a doubt this is my favorite chamomile blend, and since I’m headed to bed a bit earlier than usual tonight, I feel like I can use a little encouragement via my Meadow Nocturne.

I am not a particular fan of chamomile, but, I do like it ok in blends, and it certainly is effective in promoting relaxation. I love how the honeybush gives this blend a pleasant sweetness, and I absolutely adore lavender. This is just delightful and I can already start to feel that much needed sense of calm.

Chamomile based with lots of pretty flower petals. Relaxing tisane tasting of apple and florals. Very pleasant and relaxing. Nice blend with the florals as a high note.
