Why am I drinking this?

I had this tea while in Russia. It was the basic staple tea we always drank, and it was delightful. Sadly, upon returning home, I don’t think it exists in this country. Which is ridiculous, because we have Lipton tea. Maybe I’m not looking far enough? Grand tea!

First breakfast in Costa Rica! I got pretty excited when I saw tea, no matter what the kind. This would probably have been a passable black tea if I had read the instructions and had steeped it for 1-2 minutes, instead of 5 like I normally do for black teas. It was so unbelievably bitter that I couldn’t finish it, but ah well. Gallo pinto more than made up for it! Oh, and one of my side goals for this trip is to manage to drink tea every day. So far it’s gone well!

When I travel in very basic hotels and guest houses in Asia, I am usually rather happy to find Lipton rather than other totally unknown lower-end brand.
It does not really make for a good tea, but at least it’s not bitter from the first dip of the bag into the water, the tea within the bag is not so powderish as to seep out of the bag and fill the bottom of the cup. The taste is very bland, very basic but not unpleasant.
I’ll never buy it and have it home but I find I can drink it without unpleasantness ;)

The company uses the word gentle to describe this but I think most would use a word like weak. My mom use to fix weak Lipton tea when we were sick. All this time I thought that she specifically made it weak but now I wonder.

I liked this tea but not quite as much as the regular orange pekoe Lipton. My first encounter was on a recent visit to Ghana West Africa. In Kumasi it seems to be the standard tea drink (but I was only there a couple of weeks). It tends to be too strong if steeped the usual time as the regular orange pekoe that I can tell. I liked it enough to bring a box of it back to the US.

The only tea-drinking experience more disappointing than being served a cup of Lipton Yellow Label is being served a Yellow Label teabag on the side of a pot of hot water.

I first had this tea in the Baltics in 1991, then again on a train to Murmansk in 2000. It was wonderful. It tasted just like black tea except without the bitterness and with a very slight sweetness. It took years to find a grocery store in the USA that carried the yellow label. Lipton Yellow Label is my favorite tea.

This is a light black tea that is great for an everyday tea. To reviewers who say it’s bland and they prefer something stronger, I would say they’re absolutely correct, they probably prefer something stronger. however, compared to other tea’s in it’s class it holds up about as you’d expect, maybe better.

Crappiest black tea ever. It’s essentially water with a weak amount of caffeine. Not even adding cream could help this tea’s cause. Not a fan of Lipton black teas at all. The tea, once brewed, ends up being too watery and it’s not strong enough. Two negatives, which, in this case, does NOT make a positive. For shame Lipton, for shame. You shouldn’t be allowed to call yourself tea.

One of my favorite “get it everywhere” teas. It is always a must have at home, as its gentle flavour allows it to be enjoyed by many people.

Well…it’s not completely horrible, but it barely has any flavor.

This tea is cheap and can be bought in any local supermarket with loads of bags. Doesn’t taste too good, better than Lipton’s green tea, but will not make you come back for more or look forward for the next cup.

Very boring taste, but this seems to be most popular tea. You see this everywhere! Easily gets too bitter. Yuck!

Well I’ll take the contrary opinion to most and state that I like this tea. Then again, I’ll use a bag for 2 infusions. 1st 3-4 min and 2nd I let sit for 15min+ until I’m done the first cup. Maybe that’s why I don’t find it weak like others say.

It’s okay. Nice for when I want something all purpose?

That’s the nicest way I can say how bland it is. It’s tea. It’s very weak tea.

I dont like it a lot i would prefer Tetley or Dilmah black tea.

Gah.
