Alright do not judge me, I know this tea is nothing special on it’s own. But it is perfect for making your own tea creations. At camp this summer, I had no tea, so every morning, I would mix my lipton tea with cranberry juice, honey and sugar in the raw. It was so sweet but the cranberry juice also made it tangy. I recommend you try this, it was such a hit. One of my friends even made me make him a cup every morning too. :)

Sunday evening cards with mom and dad. This is what they always serve over ice. Yes, the Tetley I use at home is light years better and I realize this wouldn’t even pass for tea with most of y’all but its family and you don’t trash family.

Denny’s just opened in town. So we abandoned our usual Saturday breakfast spot to try the new place. It was ok. Not sure how two $4 breakfasts turns in to almost $15 by adding a cup of coffee and a cup of tea, oh, and some toast. Still seems like too much. Maybe it is because I paid $1.80 for one cup with no offer of refills, and it was a horrible cup of hot tea. I drink this iced at Mom and Dad’s and it is passable. Hot it tasted fishy and just not good. Looking forward to my usual Mother Parkers hot tea next week at Steak ’N Shake.

I have been recovering from gall bladder surgery and then I got hit with a head cold while recovering. I can’t really taste anything. I have been needing something hot with sugar or honey.

I hope I feel better soon. I’m tired of being sick.

I haven’t been feeling that great today. So more plain tea with sugar! My ear hurts and I have a lump on the left side of my throat like my sinuses are swelled up in that spot. Why do I keep getting sick? I wasn’t sick for my last two years in college unless you count my gallbladder removal surgery that fixed all my problems. Now it feels like I can’t keep away from the doctor for two months. At least I like her. (And yes, I’m going tomorrow so all you Steepster mommies don’t have to worry)

Good news: I finally got my driver’s test scheduled and it is the day before my birthday. I need to practice parallel parking some more, but I am certain that if I just don’t panic, I will pass it with flying colors.

I have been having issues with illnesses this summer. I have been drinking this tea hot and sweet, just like I used to when I first started trying to drink tea when I was really little. Hopefully, I can get my system working again and break out my more subtle teas.

I had some of the best sushi tonight. My fiancee and a group of friends took me out for sushi to a fancier sushi and hibachi grill. I had a Pink Pearl which was really sweet and my fiancee had the Katana Sushi which was tempura sushi and really yummy as well. On top of that we also got an amazing broth soup that I ate all of (and I hate broth soup), a half a plate of fried rice, and fried veggies.

After all that, I just need something simple. Some black tea with a little bit of sugar to relax my belly. I really need to get myself a simple loose leaf black tea so I don’t have to raid my mom’s tea stash when I want something simple and not something I want to steep and re-steep a few times. I am realizing that this type of tea is a staple in anybody’s tea cabinet.

I have decided that my family doesn’t put quite enough sugar in our iced tea. Either that or I need to take my sweet tooth down a few notches. I think we also need to find another tea to make iced tea out of because we keep drinking up mom’s supply in a few short days.

Just a cup of sweet hot tea to get myself balanced back after helping to throw a party for my fiancee’s best friend. It was his 21st and the only time he wanted to try drinking so we had fun. I know I won’t be drinking much for a while. Nothing much except for my lovely teas.

Dad made a big pitcher of the 4x strength and iced it. Good old fashioned iced tea. Always a pleasure.

That isn’t really why I’m writing the note. I’m writing to talk about what I had to go with this good iced tea. I had an egg nest. It is basically whipped egg whites with cheese folded in and baked. Halfway through the baking process you put the egg yolk in the middle of your “nest” form. It is really good. The yolk tastes like silk and the egg whites taste like air with that hint of cheese. It is just a plus that it also tastes really good with iced tea.

It has been really hot here recently so Dad has made really strong iced tea that we have been drinking almost exclusively. I want it to cool back down so I can enjoy my earl grey in the morning again.

Apparently I still want this tea. I always develop a taste for it and only it when I am not feeling well. But the good news is that I am feeling better. I have two more days of medicine and then hopefully I will be back to normal (and indulging in some choice oolongs!)

I have a couple layers of backlog to go through today. Nothing big. Just something nice and simple and hot and sweet to get me through the cooler evening.

Work was exhausting today and I feel too tired to make one of my fancier teas. Just this with sugar for tonight. Good news is that I’m off two hours earlier tomorrow, so it won’t be as exhausting.

I have a headcold so I can’t really taste any of my other teas. Staying with this (sweetened), water, and orange juice for a while.

I think this is a sign I might want to look into getting a sweet decaf tea to drink in the evenings. Hot with sugar. I think I might be developing a taste for Lipton’s with sugar when I’m not sick.

Backlog #4: I don’t think I will ever not have Lipton tea bags in my cupboard because sometimes you just need a plain tea that is hot and sweet. Nothing fancy, nothing frilly. Just something that you can’t screw up very easily unless you let it sit for far too long.

Plus it does make a fantastic iced tea.

I’m feeling a little big better today. I think I am feeling good enough to actually break out the gunpowder green later today. That’s exciting. I haven’t had a proper cup of loose leaf in a few weeks.

According to Think Geek, this month is National Tea month. I think that is kinda cool and a good excuse to write an actual tea blog post sometime this month.

I’m sick with an ear infection and a cough that won’t stop. So I am all medicated up and under orders to actually rest. Sugared and hot for this tea to help me feel better with a handful of peppermint Hershey kisses.

While this tea may be the poster child for meh bagged tea, it is very versatile. This tea goes with almost anything: milk, cream, honey, lemon, sugar….anything. It is still my preferred tea for making a quick chai or southern-style sweet tea.
