Vanilla Caramel Truffle

Black Tea by Lipton

A perfectly sweet indulgence. Delicate vanilla blends beautifully with pieces of real caramel and the taste of rich chocolate truffles. Go ahead. You deserve it.

Backlogging: Been away from most of my other teas last week, resorted to buying some new bagged teas. This one impressed me the least. The black tea seemed to be buried under the flavorings, which while they were ok… I wished I had some Upton Creme Caramel, where the tea is an equal player. Weak overall, not bad…just lacking.

Saw this at Walmart and my wife said if she can get the White Peach Mango I can get this one. I love my wife but I’m pretty sure I made the better choice. For two dollars a box you seriously can’t do much better. Smooth caramel vanilla or is it vanilla caramel taste? I don’t think either is overtly stronger than the other. A very good desert post dinner tea.

I didn’t know what to expect from this tea, but the bag sure had a pleasant scent. It really reminds me of a caramel latte from my coffee drinking days both in scent and flavor. (Without the coffee aftertaste, of course). There is a really intense caramel flavor to this tea with the vanilla towards the end of the sip. The black tea base is not noticeable…in fact, I had to look up what base it was supposed to have. Usually I want to be able to pick out the actual tea, but for this particular one on this particular day I’m okay with the black tea hiding out. I’m having this as my first tea of the day, but it would be equally delicious as a dessert tea. If I see this at the store, I would definitely pick this up.

This tea continues to surprise me. I love how rich it is, truly a dessert tea.

I was going for quantity here and saw this and other Liptons on sale today so I jumped on the op. This isn’t something I would normally choose for myself, however, I wanted to broaden my horizons :) I must say I was pleasantly surprised. After steeping this smelled like those Werthers Candies or something. Again, not something I would normally go for. I thought it would be too sweet and caramelly (Oh! I made a new word!) but it wasn’t bad at all. It was actually a bit smooth. The coloring is that of a paler brown/black tea or brownish with reddish tint.

Decided to revisit this today…I think I actually like it better iced…

Yeah…it’s caramelly

Hmm brewed this for a quick tea so that I might possibly wake up a bit for work. At first taste, I thought…oh..this is oddly bland. But after a few sips I suprisingly sort of like it. Not overwhelmingly so, but it has a light pleasant vanilla taste. Not bad for bagged tea…

I got some of this in a trade with The DJ Booth because I wanted to know if it was worth buying. Short answer: No.

Long answer: My wife might end me if I try to keep this in the house. It was weak, but what I could taste was bitter and burnt. Blegh.

a nice black tea by lipton, with caramel flavor. not too sweet, not too dark. really, a nice blend of flavors here. a good pick me up black tea, with just enough sweetness.

I love sweet teas, but this one has too a little bit of a bitter bite at the end. I tried to deaden the bitterness with cream, and it worked to a point, but I still tasted it a bit. It smells really awesome out of the bag, but I much prefer Bigelow’s Vanilla Caramel — no weird bitter aftertaste and better price.

Got this a while back to fill in for the Bigelow caramel vanilla I love so much (didn’t see it at the store). Definitely pleasantly surprised, first steep it smelled almost waxy, some odd smell to it.

Drinking it though, at least when I’m in the mood for something sweet, is lovely. About a teaspoon of sugar and a little bit of caramel creamer, stepped for a good 5-6 minutes, and I could drink a few cups of the stuff quite happily. The little edge of bitterness keeps it from sickeningly sweet (at least for me).

It’s so sweet you won’t be able to stop drinkin’ it!
It’s perfect at any time of the day, with cookies, tarts and jam or even alone!

Ew. Ew. Upon first sip, it tasted like a badly burnt vanilla latte. Which then left an aftertaste of badly burnt caramel popcorn. Tried a few more sips to confirm my gross hypothesis. Don’t know how I made it through half a cup before giving up. Yuck.

[Backlog] – I thought this tea would be delicious, but unfortunately it was a bit too artificial tasting. I am quite glad that I was able to try this one, but won’t be drinking it again.

This is a delicious inexpensive tea. It makes a wonderful tea latte. The tea is not as strong as I like, but the smooth caramel flavor was yummy!

This week, I have been enjoying starting the day with a dessert tea. I enjoy this tea with a little milk and sugar. It brings a smile to my face :)

The caramel is very subtle and the tea has a stronger coffee taste more than anything else.

drank this one after the disappointing chai experience. i agree with zizu, there’s a bitter aftertaste to this one. wish i had milk or cream to soften the bite.

Microwaved 2.5 minutes, steeped a couple minutes (don’t remember…) Smelled like a caramel latter while steeping. I can taste the caramel and vanilla pretty equally, and they’re pretty strong compared to the tea itself (I steep everything briefly, because I like milder tea). Out of curiosity, I added a little Coffee-Mate (hey, I don’t always have milk in the fridge), which made it slightly creamier. It mellowed out as I drank it.

Steeped this twice today. For some reason, the smell makes me think of a latte, and even though I hate coffee, I kind of like this smell. I like the rich but not overly dark presence of the tea, mixed with the sweetness of the caramel and vanilla. The flavor lingers for a bit, which is nice. Makes a good “dessert” tea, though I still prefer Pomegranate Delight by Twinings in that regard. I relax a little with this one, but others have a greater effect on me.

Resteeped it, and it still has enough caramel in it. Good when I need a richer, darker sort of sweet, or relaxing without getting sleepy.

I need to buy this tea somewhere online in Ireland or the UK.
Where can I buy it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Google searches so far are showing up nothing but a box of this tea for 35 dollars! Must be good as its impossible to buy online or offline as far as I can see…

I’m usually pretty averse to artificial flavors, but somehow i find this Lipton tea totally delightful. It smells absolutely wonderful, and while the flavor is delicate, a little bit of honey seems to really bring everything together for me. It’s my husband’s favorite tea, and i usually wish i’d gone with this rather than whatever i’ve picked for myself when i make it for him. It doesn’t really have a tea flavor at all; it mainly just tastes like caramel. Yum!
