From Lupicia

COOKIE is a sweet-scented black tea inspired by caramel cookies hot out of the oven. Finely-chopped almonds are blended to add extra flavor. It may sound sweet, but the flavor is delightfully light. Its natural sweetness becomes more prominent with added milk.

How to brew this tea
One 150ml (5.0 fl oz) cup
Infusion: 1-2 cups

Amount of tea leaves: 2.5 – 3g (0.10oz)
Water temperature: Boiling water
Brewing time: 2 – 2.5 minutes

A Lupicia store recently opened here in Singapore so I went down to have a look. When I asked the manager (who is also the one who brought the brand here) for a recommendation for something that goes well with milk, this was one of her recommendation.

And it was certainly a good one! I first took a sip of it without adding anything, and was surprised by how sweet it was. It certainly goes well with milk, like what the manager said. It smelled sweet like butter cookies, so much so that I was surprised to see almond in the ingredients list.XD It’s currently my favourite tea to drink in the morning!

Love this tea. It’s a great level of sweetness…not too strong, and a nice black flavor behind it. Will have to re-order!

I recently tried “Cookie” and hated it. The acidity got to me–not something to drink on an empty stomach. The package did say that it’s “great for milk tea”, so I guess that’s what it was meant for.

After trying La Vanille at the longer brew time recommended and not liking it, I decided to do the minimum brew time suggested on this (two minutes) and it came out just lovely. Unlike La Vanille this looks like a loose leaf tea which pleased me. It smells like a cookie – as it should. It is delicious with milk and honey which is no surprise since Lupicia lists it under teas recommended for milk tea preparation (which, in Japan, means sweetened) and the label recommends adding milk as well. It tastes like a caramel cookie and if that doesn’t appeal to you well, we have very dissimilar tastes.

Delicious (especially with milk) and it smells fantastic when brewed.

I always have this in a teaball with a little sugar and milk. It smells AMAZING and it’s a very delicate flavor for a black tea.
