I am really bummed because my first package from the Verdant reserve tea of the month club accidentally shipped to my old address that I just moved from, and is now very far away. I realized it when I saw on the tracking info that there was a notice left for delivery, but I hadn’t received a notice. Then I noticed that the current location was my old town. :(

In an effort to improve my mood, I am having a cup of this, which I got in my happy bag this year. I’m interested to try more of lupicia’s black teas because I have only ever had their black base of their Earl Grey, which I rather like a lot. This one smells very very peachy. I also smell a nice malty, almost bready black tea in it, which really smells good. The result is almost something like peach cobbler. Or maybe toast with peach butter. We got some peach butter in South Carolina the last time we were there and it was fantastic. This tea is reminding me of having that on some toast. The flavor is pretty great too… Ripe, juicy peach, but not too overly sweet so as to be candyish. The black tea base supports it very well and it quite delicious in its own right. The peach flavor is definitely not overwhelming and plays pretty equally with the black tea, not steamrolling over the top of it. I am definitely pleased with this offering and am even more interested to try more of Lupicia’s black teas.

Thanks Auggy! YOU seriously ARE Awe-Awe-Awe-SOME!

This is my LAST Black Tea today, SoccerMOM, promise! LOL

This smells like Black Tea and Peach. FUZZY. YAY!

Oh…
Well…
Aren’t YOU a feisty one!

Well, maybe not completely…I guess I ALWAYS wanted to use the word FEISTY in a tea review! LOL

Semi-Feisty! I will settle on that!

This is a fairly flavorful black flavored tea for a bagged tea! It’s juicy and peachy.

VERY slight peach but regardless it is yummers! Backlogging…

Let’s see how this goes…Lupicia did not impress me with the Happy Bags although the other teas people have swapped with me have been grand. When I have money and far less tea, I would like to buy a lot with them…but first they must pass the peach test.

Momo drinking Momo. Hahahaha. I gave myself the name Momo on here because 1. I am in the Peach State 2. I used to love the manga Peach Girl and 3. Momo is an Italian racing company, and they have these amazing blue seats I want in my car so badly even though that’s a silly thing to do with my car.

One of these days though I’m gonna switch it back to Amanda. I’ll keep the Bruno avatar though.

This is pretty good. I don’t think a black base is my favorite choice for a peach tea though. It’s just a little too heavy.

The peach though is most excellent. Definitely one of the best, most realistic peach flavors I’ve ever had in a tea. And when it cooled off entirely it was even better, like a fresh peach in June!

I know I have the momo oolong somewhere and then the entire tin of Momoko from the bag (as well as a sample from darby) so I will see how those do and then I will dream of the day I can make that big order. Hey, it could be only a year away.

This is a mildly flavoured tea so the peach flavour does not overwhelm flavourful black tea base. I was expecting something like Snapple but the peach flavour is much more subtle, like that of real peaches. A sweet and fruity cup that would probably taste amazing when iced. :)

didn’t see the note about this being best iced until my kettle was boiling, so I went ahead and had it hot, with a bit of sourwood honey to bring out the peach flavor. Not bad, but probably would be better iced. I really need to work my way through this pile of Lupicia samples, and this seemed like a good place to start since it’s one of the few blacks I have from them.

Thanks TeaEqualsBliss – this is a tea that I probably would not have bought from Lupicia, not because I don’t love peach teas because I do, but because it seems like everyone’s got a peach tea, you know? But this one is amazing.

The peach essence is so authentic, that I can almost feel the fuzz of the peach! It is so very good. Probably the best peach tea I’ve ever tasted.

This is a pretty decent tea. I think that momo goes better with green or white teas. The black teas I think overpower the peach flavor just a little bit. Good tea overall!

Last of this tea, which makes me feel really accomplished. Not so much because this tea is gone but because I’m getting rid of the little drips and drabs I’ve had around for so long because I don’t want to use them up. Well, time to purge.

This one is very peachy, but not Jolly Rancher peachy. More Japanese fruit gummy peachy. I like it. Probably won’t get more of it right now because peach-flavored things aren’t huge in my book (this one was purchased for the husband – he’s a huge peach fan), but I WILL be getting more Lupicia flavored blacks in the future. I love how they flavor things. They have the rare flavored black teas that I can actually drink with no milk or sugar. Good stuff.

I picked up some Lupicia teas in the store last time I was in San Francisco. Probably the most delightful tea store I have ever been to, and if you’re ever near a Lupicia store, I’d highly recommend dropping by for a visit!

Momo was one of the teas I picked up during this trip. I figured I like peaches, and I love tea, why not try them together? I had a hot cup yesterday, and wasn’t particularly impressed. I detected a faint peach note aftertaste, but the black tea was predominant. I had also added a touch of rock sugar because I read that this brings out the peach flavor. Mostly tasted like those Japanese peach gummies, which I adore, but find strange to drink.

I decided to try it iced today, and boy, was that a treat! I have already had two large glasses, and imagine I probably won’t be sleeping much tonight. It is lovely on its own without sugar, and the peach note really sings when it is iced. Highly recommend it for the dog days of summer.

Here’s a good fruit-flavored black tea, delivering an impressively clear, crisp, and soft peach flavor without tasting like boxed fruit juice!

The white peach flavoring here melds well with the base, which is peach leaves blended with (what seems to be) a smooth Keemun black tea – overall, a light blend as far as flavored blacks go.

Because of the relatively delicate blend, I’d highly recommend a more gentle brew for this tea than other flavored blacks – definitely no more than 200F, with 190-195F my current personal ideal. Anything higher, and the smooth black base develops harsh mineral notes, and the soft white peach flavor hardens with sourness.

Given fair treatment, Momo definitely delivers!
It resteeps nicely, keeps nicely, and tastes great whether hot, warm, cooling, or cold, never developing bitterness or dryness. It’s solid on its own, but takes additives like milk and sugar very well. And, most importantly, it maintains that remarkably well-executed white peach flavor althroughout.

Well done on this one, Lupicia!

Brewed strong, the resulting straight brew isn’t as nice as with my normal parameters… but it’s delicious with sugar!

I did a strong, overleafed brew on this on purpose; I’m prepping iced tea for tomorrow. My co-worker dared me to go Southern sweet tea-style (he’s from Ohio), and that’s where this is headed… maybe. I’m terrible at making iced tea… Hopefully we will have some refreshing tea to combat the 100F high tomorrow!

For now, this is still a hot tea with sugar, and it’s doing well. First steep is strong on the peach flavor; less delicately sweet and layered, more ripe and dark, with some mineral notes. Second steep is much less sweet and fruity, a little weak – but the mineral notes develop, making this remarkably similar to that sweet-stone flavor at the base of a peach. I’m not sure if this is coincidence, or the deliberate work of Lupicia’s magic…

Strong hot-brew last night, chilled for 12 hours.
Iced peach sweet tea challenge SUCCESS. Well, sort of.

I ended up using 8 teaspoons of rock sugar for 1200mL of this, which I don’t like. That’s equivalent to 1 teaspoon for 150mL, which isn’t too bad, but it’s more than what I’d wanted to use, and it still wasn’t as sweet as I expected it to be at that point… Commercial sweet tea must be swimming in sugar. I don’t think this tea shows off its soft fruitiness as much, like this.

Still, the iced tea was good! A little stony at the edges, and not as brisk in texture as I’d like, but just peachy, and still natural-tasting enough to be true to its regular profile. I got the approval of my Southern sweet tea drinking co-workers, so it’s a little victory!

Smells the way it should: black tea and peaches.

I started playing around on Facebook and let the tea cool off too much before I tried it. Not good cold. Had to nuke it. But I digress.

Overall, it’s kind of bland. More so than I would expect from a black tea (I usually find black teas strong and need to dilute them with milk). It’s also been 80 degrees in my apartment for the past week, so it makes it harder to enjoy hot tea. I should probably switch to iced teas for a while. sigh But I digress again.

I added a little sweetener & I think that helps bring out the taste of the peaches more. I blame the selection of black tea leaves they chose for the base.

I steeped it for 3 minutes. Maybe less water would have been better? I sometimes get the water to leaves ratio off and always on the side of too much water.

Wow! Peach-Y! I already have a peach black tea, so when this one came in my happy bag, I wasn’t all that excited about it. However, when I opened the bag and got THAT aroma… it had my full attention. It was like someone stuck a fresh peach right into the bag with the tea. And it was clearly a WHITE peach aroma, very distinctly, which earned it extra points. :)

The brew did not disappoint AT ALL. As I was sipping, I could almost taste the flesh of the peach. The peach flavor even went through that odd morphing of flavor that real peaches do—the flesh tastes different as you travel inward from the skin to the pit. All of those nuances were represented in there. Thoroughly impressive!

I think I brewed this one too hot and scorched the peach flavor right out of it. Note to self: don’t do that! :(

This was a morning staple for me for a while when I was still living at home. It doesn’t smell or taste like the usual artificial peach variant, but has a deeper, more genuinely fruity flavor. I was really pleasantly surprised because this is a black tea that still manages to retain the taste of black tea while at the same time tasting like peaches. It’s hard to explain. The flavor doesn’t overpower me, though it’s definitely not a weak tea.

It smells like heaven as it brews.

I haven’t tried it iced, but I’m sure it’ll taste great. Next on my list of things to do at home once I fetch the tin from my tea drawer at work.

Had this as a late morning pick-me-up. Hadn’t had it in awhile and I think I enjoyed it more today than I had in the past. Very subtle smooth peach flavor. Definitely need to try more Lupicia teas. Hoping my subscription for the newsletter brings me samples of new teas to try!

This tea smells divine, I have a weakness for peaches though. Brewed, it still smells somewhat like peaches, yay! Upon tasting, the peach flavor is less prominent and the black tea takes the stage but there’s definitely a sweetness on the tongue as you drink. Definitely good as a warm tea. The flavor is seeming to mellow out as I continue to consume the pot.

I may try brewing some more up again on another day with more tea and a bit of a longer brew period, as I seem to like my teas somewhat strong.

In all, a pleasant tea with mild flavor that will be good as a complement to my activities, but if my current activity is to sit and revel in a cup of tea this tea wouldn’t be it.

I kind of like it. Kind of weak follow through though, could be fuller. But it is good enough to drink as is (no additives).

I don’t think I’ve ever described a tea as cute before, but this really is. It’s a very happy black tea. The peach taste is both aromatic and sweet in your mouth, and doesn’t taste artificial at all. I’m sad I didn’t have more than a sample of this, but it was a nice way to start my morning.
