Traditional Formosa Iron Goddess of Mercy Oolong

Oolong Tea by Mantra Tea

Iron Goddess of Mercy, also known as Tie Guanyin (TGY), is one of the most famous oolong tea, and Mantra Tea’s Iron Goddess of Mercy, thoroughly baked original style TGY, is the rarest and the top of its range because the ancient processing skills have only been fully preserved in Taiwan, unfortunately not in its origin town in China.

Ancestors from China to Taiwan brought generations of experience to make authentic traditional TGY. Mantra Tea TGY is from the 9th generation of the tea master immigrated from the origin town in China, who has the longest history in making traditional TGY and has won numerous first prize in TGY tea competitions.

The processing of TGY is complex and requires expertise. From plucking, repeated hand rolling, roasting to the end product, the process takes up to one month. The raw tea leaves must be plucked by hands as leaves grow on the authentic TGY tree in a specific angle, which cannot be carefully plucked by machines.

Mantra Tea traditional TGY is baked by highly skilled tea master, carefully controlling the level of flame from a special kind of wood rather than the common roasting electronic machine. Each processing has to be perfect otherwise its true character will not be shown. This is why the method of processing Tieguanyin Tea was kept a secret.

With all the complex procedures, our tea seemly has been cultivated to a well-rounded man. it delivers unique smooth taste full of fruity sweetness and delightful acidity with a hint of deep raisiny and ripe fruit aroma. The long lingering on your taste bud to the end is a note of warm wood. Very suitable for afternoon or evening when you like to be pumped up without afraid of losing sleep at night.
