From Marks & Spencer Tea

Marks & Spencer Fairtrade Earl Grey tea is a light and delicately flavoured blend supplied by Fairtrade-certified tea growers in Sri Lanka and Kenya. Distinctive, beautifully perfumed oil of bergamot is infused into the leaves, making the classic Earl Grey tea. Bergamot oil is taken from a pear-shaped citrus fruit named after the Italian town of Bergamo, where the oil is still made.

I’m very surprised at the poor reviews. Have M&S changed the recipe? The bergamot aroma is very strong and nice, and you can definitely taste it in the tea, though more delicately than with other Earl Greys. It is admittedly a bit bitter but I like it that way. Fits my tastes very well.

Quite bitter even with a 2-3 minute steep. Not much of bergamot anywhere despite the yellowing on the teabags. The box of 50 is cheap at least but not sure how I’m going to use up 49 more of these!
