From Masters Teas

Golpaldhara’s Rohini estate Gold Wire Autumnal Darjeeling, offers a luscious late season treat. The cup is medium amber gold in color, and medium-light bodied. The aroma is fruity, suggesting muscatel grape and plum, but the cup holds much more. Initial taste sensations are those of toast, cocoa and honey, then opening up to plum and fig, hints of spice, and in the super smooth finish, a wonderful nuance of floral notes. Oolong fans may enjoy this one, as it holds similarities with Zhongshan Baiye Oolong from China with all the complexities and richness.

This tea contains a moderate level of caffeine | Steep at 212° for 3 minutes.

Steeped this one up earlier this week. I actually thought I’d pulled a different sample out of my box of Adagio teas and I didn’t realize until I was straining the tea leaf that I’d actually grabbed this tea and not the black tea I’d intended. As a result, I steeped this as I would have a black tea. However, it came out really lovely! Nice and sweet notes of warm golden grains and breads with floral undertones. Just calming, smooth and really well rounded mouthfeel on top of that great malty floral body.

A lot of the Darjeeling Oolongs I have border more black than oolong for me, so I have to use black ratios for them too.
