WOW. Either I am the first to log this or I may have missed it.
Regardless…I’m drinking it courtesy of TTB.

I’m getting a hint of a peanut butter type smell underneath a vegetable smell.

It kind of reminds me of that Spicy Tofu Peanut Wrap at Quiet Storm in Pittsburgh that I have been craving lately. – Sorry for that side note/rant.

Anyhow…
Once it’s fully infused the nutty-scent disappears and it’s all about the veggie smell, which is fine. It’s a light brown on the verge of yellow-ish in color.

It does have a nutty taste to it and it is very nice…a bit of sweetness too!
Another great cuppa…thus far – I am having a wonderful tea day!

BUMMER…I’m officially out of ALL my McNulty’s from the TTB grabs. Sigh…
This is tasting very vegetal today, moreso, than I remember it but it’s still good! See my other reviews!

2nd infusion…just as yummy!

YUM.

I only have enough for one more cup tho…so sad.
Backlogging…it’s been a crazy day!

I can’t say as I ever started a tea with an oolong but I have been thinking about this one for a few days. I didn’t have the greatest tea day yesterday so I thought I would start differently…glad I did…this is yummy…

Very solid Tikuanyin. I especially like the scent of the dried rolled leaves – it is clear that the brewed cup will be dense with flavor, and sure enough, it is. The brewed scent is on a floral/vegetal boundary that is rather pleasant.

The complex color of the brew is less green than others of this variety that I’ve tried, perhaps the leaves are oxidized a bit more.

The taste is what one might expect from the scent but less buttery than the greener versions. It’s floral and sweet, a very soothing mixture that is best enjoyed as one reflects and relaxes.

I am slowly getting back into tea now that I’m in the office and letting myself have a few cups through the day. I can’t figure out how to drink oolong (with the multiple steeps) at home, so I brought my tiny pot to work and have cups throughout the day.

This is a good one. I’m out of practice, so I don’t have much to say other than it’s very good. It lacks some of the harshness in the first few steeps that some oolongs have, which makes it a winner in my book!

This is the last of my sample. There was more than enough for my tiny teapot, but not enough for a cup, so I made a super strong tiny teapot and steeped for a shorter time (thinking of Samovar’s recommendations as I did). I have to echo the hint of peanut butter. Now that I’ve read that, I’m totally getting it, too.

The smell reminds me of the spring rolls at our local Asian market. I may have to reserve some for a rice dish. It has a very distinct oolong flavor similar to the dark oolong that we get a Chinese diner.
