From Menghai Tea Factory

This ripe puer is developed to celebrate Menghai Tea Factory’s 70th Anniversary. It is commemoration of the 70 years of history, an exhibition of the superb tea manufacturing crafts and also proof of the Tae people’s dedication to good tea.

It is mainly made from the exquisite solarized mature tea leaves from the Menghai tea area. The leaves are elegant and stretched, yielding a brownish red color and golden hairs. It brews a bright thick red broth, as crystal as amber, and mellow flavor with smooth taste and full of tea essence.

This has a lot of full leaf in it. Not like the “chopped” leaf of some of Dayi’s arbor cakes. compression is about half of usual dayi compression. It has a pleasant bitterness that subsides on later brews. It still has a little punch to it with some light grassy notes. I will be interested to see how this is 5 years from now.

Tea friend samples yay!

This stuff is pretty damn super. No fermentation flavors, just a light, pleasant earthiness. It has an interesting astringent finish, but nothing unpleasant. I’m definitely enjoying this one. I’d buy some, but I’m trying to refrain… for now. LOL
