Picked this up on a whim while I was out shopping this weekend. It tastes quite different from other green teas, so much so that I had to look it up to see what category it falls under. So far, the taste really reminds me of darker oolongs. I don’t think I used enough leaf, since the instructions said to use 2-3 tsp/cup, so maybe my opinion will change later today when I try again! I like it, but I’m not a huge fan.
Hojicha
Mitoku Hojicha is a traditional tea with a distinctive smokey flavor and aroma. Hojicha is made from gently roasted bancha tea leaves. Refreshing and mild, Mitoku Hojicha is an ideal drink at any time of day. To prepare, pour boiling water over tea leaves (2-3 teaspoons/cup). Steep 2 minutes, or until brewed to taste. Serve hot or chilled. The leaves can be reused once. To maintain the tea’s freshness, reseal the bag after opening, and store in a cool, dry place.
