I believe this might finally be the last sample I saved from the previous tea box. The flavor reminds me of the orange black tea I used to drink when I was a kid. I definitely overleafed this brew since I wanted to use up all the leaf I had saved, which somewhat detracts from the flavor. I don’t sense any spices, but also this tea tastes somewhat old, so maybe the spices were there originally. The black tea is a little brisk. So yeah, I’d prefer other versions of this tea over this version.

Another sipdown. Thank you to Matcha Manic for the sample.

The black tea was ok, but nothing special. A tad too sharp for me (tannic, brisk). The cinnamon/cloves and lemon/orange zest are a traditional combo that works well together. I wouldn’t have this again, though, because I’ve seen it executed better elsewhere. The orange zest was ok, definitely gave a dried fruit vibe. I also got some dried fruit that reminded me more of dried cranberry and dried fig. It wasn’t a bad cup, but I prefer constant comment for an orange and clove black tea.
