Ceylon (loose leaf)

Black Tea by Newby Teas of London

Newby’s blend of finest high-grown Ceylon teas gives a refreshing, bright cup with a medium amber colour, full flavour and a lively, spicy aftertaste.

Sri Lankan tea is still known as “Ceylon”, the former name of this beautiful island.

Sri Lanka has become known as the island of tea and has been producing teas of the finest quality since the end of the 19th century.”

Famous for its dazzling gemstones, lush jungles and exotic wildlife, Sri Lanka is also blessed with the perfect climate for plantation crops: rubber, spices and, most importantly, tea.

Twice a year Sri Lanka’s monsoons blow across the island’s south-central mountain ranges, resulting in the unique growing conditions, which create the distinctive character of Ceylon teas.
