My first Nina’s Paris tea! When I opened the packet and took a whiff the dry leaves (broken with several bits of strawberry), I smelled a strong aroma of strawberry-flavored hard candy, with a hint of vanilla. The liquor of the tea is clear and dark brown. I was surprised by the strength of the flavor when I took my first sip. It is bold. I was expecting a black tea from India, but perhaps it came from Africa (DISCLAIMER: I have little experience in tasting teas from either country (that is, unflavored teas), but I have tried some black tea from Kenya, and this tea tasted very much like it). The tea somewhat overpowers the strawberry, but the strawberry’s presence is stronger during the aftertaste. It is a bit creamy, most likely due to the presence of the vanilla. Thankfully, it’s the strawberry that makes this tea bearable, since I’m not too partial to bitter black teas.

Since this tea is very strong, I would drink it in the morning or the late afternoon after coming home from a long day.

I was lucky to have come across this at HomeGoods. Had never heard of Nina’s, but upon looking to see what a stellar brand it was, went back to get whatever flavors were offered—-so glad I did. Having this tea today, iced, with lunch. I steeped yesterday, 3-4 minutes. I knew when I picked this up that I should want to try it as an iced tea, and boy is it good. I only added a touch of sweetener to the quart I made, but likely doesn’t need any. While steeping, it had a strong honey scent, along with the strawberry, and not too heavy on the vanilla. This will be a summer favorite. I will try it hot, but will likely save especially for iced tea. Very true strawberry flavor.

I guess I had better go to HomeGoods!

I usually don’t reach for strawberry teas, but this tea has me reconsidering that. Easily the best strawberry tea I have ever had.

I took this to class the other day and it didn’t taste anything like I thought it should – or like the reviews led me to believe. It tasted orange/spicey. So I figured that was user error and sure enough, my steeper still smelled like the prior tea. I tried again today and I have been happily nursing a 16 oz serving of this. Delicious, strawberry and cream. I really love it.

Received samples of this from Nina’s Tea and Courtney.

I checked Steepster ahead of time to determine the best temperature, rather, to see what everyone else did. I went with boiling for 2-3 min.

I found this pretty astringent. Not as smooth nor as creamy as I’d hoped, I found the strawberry taste seemed a bit artificial to me, but the main issue was the bitterness. Perhaps at a lesser temperature it would be softer and creamier, but as I prepared it, this tea was not particularly angelic!

Happy to have tried it out, thanks to Nina’s and Courtney!

Aw! Yes, I wasn’t a huge fan the first time around. I waited ~5 minutes after boiling the next time and it worked much better.

ohfancythat I think I have enough left to try again! :)

Thank you so much for this sample, Nina’s Paris! This tea smells wonderful and the taste delivers! Like the other Nina’s teas I’ve tried, the flavors are well executed and perfectly understated without seeming weak. How do they do that? Along with the black tea base, this tea is all tart strawberry with a creaminess from the vanilla. It reminds me a bit of strawberries romanoff. This tea does dry out my mouth more than I’d like, but that’s really the only criticism I have. Tea of the angels indeed :-).

I made this last night, steeping it 3 times, and adding all three steeping into a big mug with a little truvia to chill over night in the fridge. Was a very delightful fruity iced tea, nice sweet berry notes, though less intense than those in Grand Amour. Hard pressed, I’d chose Grand Amour, just because I’m in love with the sweet fruityness of that tea. All in all though, this is a delicious tea, and I’m happy than there was enough still in bag left to try it (the sample I had received had opened during shipment and most spilled out). Thanks Laurent!

Like Hepburn, I’m preferring this tea a few weeks after it has arrived. I’ll have to remember in the future when ordering Nina’s to allow them to sit a while before diving in.

The strawberry is much more true to taste today, and not fake tasting, like the first time I tried this (the day it arrived in the mail). The base is nice too, typical of Nina’s black teas. I’m pretty picky about strawberry teas, but this seems to be working out well.

Yay! It is always nice when you come back to a tea and find it has gotten better as time passed.

Tea of the morning. I’m about to go to something called “Ageless Yoga” at the Iyengar Yoga studio which is made for people 55+. I’m not that old (yet) but with my recent history of injuries I thought it might be good to start out with something easy… ;)

This tea is just O.K. in my opinion. I like the black tea base but the strawberry flavor is pretty tart. It is a berry natural flavor which is good, but I prefer the strawberry teas from Lupicia. I will probably finish the tin some day but not very quickly… Maybe I should try this iced.

Good choice with starting with yoga. Hope it helps!

TeaBrat

Well, it hurt a lot more after the class was over but ultimately I think it will help my shoulder!

yyz

That’s understandable. I think it will. I’ve seen it help people regain a lot of mobility before.

Another spring tea flavor to try.
Hmm. Strawberry flavor is very strong in this cup. I think someone else once said almost jam like, and I must say I agree. Its almost thick, in the flavor.
I think its a very good strawberry tea, refreshing and fun. Would be good for the warmer months.
Good! I’m thankful to JustJames, who sent this my way a few months ago to help me when I was feeling blue.
Yum. Now, off for a walk, to soak up the spring-time feel. Its going to rain here again tomorrow, so is should take advantage while I can.

(a steepster note. I find it funny that “asparagus” is listed as a flavor in the drop-down menu, but strawberry is not. Huh? Also “roasted chicken”. Please tell me there are not chicken flavored teas out there….)

caile

Lol – roasted chicken flavoured tea is not high on my wish list either! ;-)

Roswell Strange

One of Adagio’s TARDIS blends (not the Cara McGee one) tasted like caramel and chicken broth to me…

Rosehips

eeeeek. Poultry flavored tea is to be avoided!

caile

haha, I was going to ask if you liked it, but I see not. I guess even the caramel didn’t help. ; )

gmathis

Chicken flavored tea = boullion?
