From Oliver Pluff & Company

Darjeeling Autumnal Flush- 4-oz Loose Tea in Pkg (also available in a 1-oz loose sampler)

Notes: Darjeeling is a black tea which yields a thin-bodied, light-colored infusion with a floral aroma, which can include a musky spiciness sometimes described as “muscatel”. Tea plantations are seated at the foothills of the Himalayas in northern India. The Darjeeling region is renowned for tea with unique flavor and distinctive quality that is unlike any other in the world.

History: Gardens were planted by the British in 1841 by the British East India Company – the same company which lost tea cargo shipped to the American colonies during the Boston Tea Party and other “taxation without representation” protests around the American colonies in the 1770’s.

Very pleasant aroma from the dry leaves. The finish is lightly astringent but not bitter, which I appreciate. A very mellow Darjeeling. I poured the boiling water directly over the leaves. Since I only had the 1oz sampler, I didn’t do much experimenting.
