Tiger Hill, OP

Black Tea by Praise Tea Company

Flavorful tea with faint citrus notes. Medium-bodied. A dry and unassuming tea with a delightful citrusy flavor, Nilgiri makes an excellent iced tea. Slowly growing in the high elevation, in pristine air and on fertile soil.

This tea reminds me a lot of a Darjeeling, both in appearance and in flavor. In fact, had someone just sat this cup in front of me without telling me what type of tea it was, I would guess it was a Darjeeling.

But, according to the package it is a Nilgiri. It has a bright, brisk flavor. It is somewhat astringent which leaves the palate feeling clean but not overly dry. Very smooth and no bitterness. A light sweetness with a muscatel-ish note.

A very pleasant tea. The light sweetness makes it quite delicious without adding any sweetener or milk. I like it very much.

Edited to add: After this tea cooled slightly, this became more Nilgiri-like than Darjeeling-like. I’m getting less of a muscatel note now and more of a citrus-y note. A very interesting tea…

Enjoying one last cup of this before I send off what I have left to my SororiTEA Sister!

This one seriously starts off like a Darjeeling. Once it cools just a little bit, it demonstrates more Nilgiri characteristics… It has a nice, robust quality to it. Very pleasant. Notes of citrus. A very lovely tea.

YUP! I agree with LiberTEAs…totally reminds me of Darjeeling! Since I have had an awful day I will be brief…I like this and had 3 cups worth.

backlogging from last week and a sipdown…I’m very behind on evening logs! Oops!

Backlogging and upping…liking this one more than before…

A likeable, medium-bodied tea good both with and without the addition of milk
