A lovely decorated cylindrical tin of genmaicha my aunt gave to me. I presume it was purchased at an asian grocery in Vancouver, but haven’t the faintest idea where.

I’m really in the mood for toasty teas tonight, so thought it would be a great opportunity to use up a bit more of this one, which is quite old. I have to admit that there’s almost a bit of staleness to it, but it’s still pretty darned good. I definitely overleafed this cup though, so the green tea is a touch strong (even though the vast, vast, vast majority of the “leaf” is toasted rice!) Scrumptious and palate-cleansing though, which is exactly what I was going for tonight.
