Leaf Characteristics: This is one of the more inexpensive astringent (clean and fresh tasting) teas that I have purchased as a store brand, it seems to be more-so than Trader Joe’s.

Water temperature: 180 Fahrenheit
Time: 2 minutes
I fixed myself a cup of this tea in the morning prior to venturing out for a volunteer posting that I had acquired for the day. I get to be out of the household and not be in the way or bothersome to folks.
Anyhow, I sip this tea lightly and enjoy the clean freshness of it. It is uniquely subtle and so very light and what I need; which a simple cup of tea.
This Price Chopper brand of Green Tea is a refreshing drink with a delicate, clean flavor and I think its freshness beats out Trader Joe’s tea that I used to enjoy and will always enjoy. I am not an expert; I like both teas: that is all.

As I was out all day, and I did not have tea while out, so, I am selecting this tea to have with my late afternoon meal. I take one of the tea bags and put in my cup and fill with the hot water. I leave to steep for several minutes.
This tea’s color is lightest green; some would say brown. And this tea smells strongly astringent/ grassy like and when I taste the tea prior to sampling my dinner it is astringent. It is good that I am having noodles and I can pretend it is noodles with broccoli perhaps. A better tea would have been an oolong tea which at times is so light that it does not interfere with the taste of the food; rather oolong teas blends well with what is eaten. But, no, I am having green tea with dinner and it is fine.

Water temperature: 190 Fahrenheit
Time: 2 minutes
Note: I use one tea bag in my cup and pour the hot water over the tea bag and leaving it to steep for 3 minutes. I remove the tea bag and take in the tea’s aroma which is very subtle and fresh. And the tea’s color is that of honey. Since the tea leaves are steamed and not fermented the taste is fresher, a refreshing drink that is delicate and clean; making for a very astringent cup of the freshest of green teas.
