A one brew sized sample that came with an order. Overall a bit smoky and bitter for me but I have a feeling that it might have been due to my brewing so I am going to refrain from rating this one.
2007 Mengku Hao Pu-erh Tea Cake
It is made of sun dried maocha, not baked maocha as seen in Mengku Tea Factory’s most recent productions – a reason why we stop buying more of their products that taste good when they are fresh, look pretty but become less interesting after a couple of years.
Sun dried maocha keeps the properties of a Pu-erh tea for good aging, its aroma, the color of the soup and etc. as you can tell from this cake that ages well.
