This may be one of the few matcha I can drink straight although that won’t keep me from enjoying it as a latte :)
Tonight I am drinking very small amounts of all the matcha I can to get my reviews done in time for the rewards cut off. With that said I am enjoying this one quite a bit. It does not taste better than straight macadamia nut to be but it is nice to have for a change because I do tend to reach for my macadamia nut matcha often!
This one is very yummy with the added flavor of caramel I believe. It could be just some sort of syrup flavor but whatever it is – its YUMMY!

I got mine in the robust flavor which I believe I would get again in the future. No need to have less flavor in a dessert treat like this!

I am savoring the tiny amount I have made for this tasting and drinking it without the typical latte and loving it. The sugary flavor comes through but there is the benefit of no sugar added and I don’t need to add it to make it taste like dessert!

Thanks Red Leaf tea keep bringing the new flavors!

Thank you so much Azzrian for sending me a sampling of this Matcha.

I’m enjoying this as a latte … I used mostly water to prepare it, withheld a couple of tablespoons of hot water, and added a splash of warmed milk in place of the withheld water. This produces a very satisfying latte.

This is a tasty flavored Matcha, but I can’t say that it’s my favorite that I’ve tried thus far. I’m really glad that I got to try it though! (Thanks again Azzrian!)

This has a strong Macadamia Nut flavor, but not as much of a caramel-y praline flavor that I had hoped for. I can taste hints of it, but, it’s just not exactly what I envisioned when I thought “Macadamia Praline”. I also taste the Matcha which adds a lovely creamy element that melds so well with the sweet, tasty, macadamia nut flavor. Definitely good, and like I said, really happy I tried it, but, I’m glad that I tried it as a sampling rather than buying the pouch, because there are others that I think I’d rather have in stock.

Backlog:

Thank you to Azzrian for sending me some of this Matcha … I enjoyed it. I was hoping for more of a caramelized flavor with this one, but I liked the macadamia nut flavor. It was tasty!

I haven’t had the pure macadamia nut matcha so I don’t know how it compares with this one, and I haven’t had actual macadamia nuts in a long while, but this does taste like what I vaguely remember that those nuts tasted like way back when. There is also the addition of a bit of sweetness, almost artificial tasting, to the high note of the sip. It tastes much like it smells, nutty with a fair bit of sweetness.

I’d been putting off tasting this matcha for a while because I couldn’t decide if I liked the smell of it or not, the sweetness was confusing for my nose because it smelled (and tastes) right on the edge of artificial for me. Since praline (which I just looked up) is basically boiled ground up nuts with a sugar syrup added, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that the sweetness has no real character to it. It’s just…sweet.

As I continue drinking this, I still can’t decide if I like it or not. There’s a sharpness to the nutty taste that’s sort of putting me off. Possibly it’s true to an actual macadamia nut taste and the sharpness is from the nut itself, but I don’t remember macadamia nuts well enough to tell.

Basically, if you like macadamia nuts, and want something sweeter than the regular blend, this is probably a good one for you. I want RLT to come out with more nutty blends though. I’d love to see a cashew or a pecan matcha.
