Oh ew. This gets a little meh when made hot and then cooled. Flat and tasteless. I got distracted and so ended up sipping from my mug an hour after making my cuppa… and let’s just say never again. The contrast is just too strong, between hot and cool. I need to try it waterbottle brewed.

Kashyap

if ew…why so high a rating? funny…something about winter always draws me to cold steep gyokuro and similar teas…the hot brewing seems to draw out a sake, soy note that I don’t groove to

Indigobloom

oh it’s just when cold! hot, I adore this one :)

Bonnie

Kashyap, do you ever ice brew (Shinobi-Cha) your gyokuro? It’s a kick in the head if you have really good leaf!

Bear With Me

Crap, now I have to go do a Shinobi-Cha brew of my gyokuro! Thanks for the idea Bonnie!

Indigobloom

Oh man, cold brew Gyuokuro. yum!!

When you can’t have Wheatgrass – why not have Wheatgrass Matcha!?

I’m game!

If you’ve ever had a ‘shot’ of Juiced Wheatgrass – you may know it can be pretty harsh! BUT…the benefits are AMAZING! I’m not one to do this often altho I should. I would also LOVE to sprout Wheatgrass at home – but I have yet to do that.

I feel, at this point of my life, and because this is now a staple in my Matcha Cabinet, this is the way to go! Thanks RLT!!!

I wasn’t sure how this was going to work with the matcha base…at first I was assuming it was going to be like a straight-up Wheatgrass Shot or something but it’s WAY MORE pleasant!!! I’m VERY excited and impressed by this matcha offering on many levels!

It’s tastes like wheatgrass and a little lemon-grassy, even. It works PERFECT with the Matcha Base! It’s good hot or cold. It’s smooth and near malty.

Now…I’m wondering about adding a bit of it to smoothies, tonics, blended salads, just a pinch to dips, spreads, desserts, etc. OH!!! The possibilities!

AWESOME!

Terri HarpLady

wheat grass is potent stuff, I’ve loved it since the first ‘shot’. I like to make a smoothie with apple, lemon, kale, frozen banana, a shot of wheat grass or 2, & some spirolina. Add a little water, blend, & enjoy!

Ellyn

This sounds like such an interesting combination. I wonder if the health benefits are as potent?

TeaEqualsBliss

I believe RLT mentioned they freeze dried the wheatgrass so it would hold most/all the nutritional value – so none or little would be lost :)

Babble

Oh so it’s not just natural flavor?

TeaEqualsBliss

Rachel – from what I understand…it’s actual freeze-dried Wheatgrass, I believe.

I cannot say enough good things about this matcha. It is a perfect afternoon pick-me-up. I like that it’s made with wheatgrass, since it is something that I don’t like to drink on it’s own I feel better that I’m able to consume it in a more palatable manner.

First off, I will admit that I am a huge fan of matcha in general. That being said, this tea truly is the best of all possible worlds. You get the inherent health benefits that come with matcha (ingesting the entire, powdered leaf, instead of just steeping) and the additional benefit of the wheatgrass. All this, and an all-natural, sustained energy-boost?

Like all RedLeaf Matcha the color is very verdantly green, but due to the wheatgrass it tends to be a little lighter than some of their others. After whisking up a cup, the flavor is very vegetal. It has the smell and flavor of fresh-cut grass, and I mean that in the best possible way. It tastes fresh, crisp and warmly -if ever so subtly – sweet.

It’s perfect for re-energizing during the post-lunch 2-3pm drag, and a good replacement of the post-coffee-guzzling-guilt.
