When you can’t have Wheatgrass – why not have Wheatgrass Matcha!?

I’m game!

If you’ve ever had a ‘shot’ of Juiced Wheatgrass – you may know it can be pretty harsh! BUT…the benefits are AMAZING! I’m not one to do this often altho I should. I would also LOVE to sprout Wheatgrass at home – but I have yet to do that.

I feel, at this point of my life, and because this is now a staple in my Matcha Cabinet, this is the way to go! Thanks RLT!!!

I wasn’t sure how this was going to work with the matcha base…at first I was assuming it was going to be like a straight-up Wheatgrass Shot or something but it’s WAY MORE pleasant!!! I’m VERY excited and impressed by this matcha offering on many levels!

It’s tastes like wheatgrass and a little lemon-grassy, even. It works PERFECT with the Matcha Base! It’s good hot or cold. It’s smooth and near malty.

Now…I’m wondering about adding a bit of it to smoothies, tonics, blended salads, just a pinch to dips, spreads, desserts, etc. OH!!! The possibilities!

AWESOME!

Backlogging…still much better than I anticipated! LOVE this!

Robust flavouring, Organic Royal grade matcha. Size large!!
Wow this is amazing. I loooooove wheatgrass. Yep call me weird. heh.
Whatever. This… this is SO GOOD. Just what I was looking for.
A wheatgrass and matcha drink all in one. Amazing.
I knew I’d like this. So much so that I ordered a large. I never do that without trying a tea first. But I was that sure. and, I was right. Oh yeah.
It’s the perfect amount of wheatgrass. Not biting or sour like a true wheatgrass shot, but the perfect balance of flavours between matcha and grass. If you love those ultra expensive shots from Jugo or wherever, this will save you tons of money. It is so smooth and fragrant and rich. Deep, bright green.
Trouble is, I love smoothies almost as much as I love this matcha, and I can’t have both in one day… so I’m stuck choosing. Agh!
Smoothies help me reach my veggie/fruit intake goal so they usually win. Pickle much? sighs.

Oh ew. This gets a little meh when made hot and then cooled. Flat and tasteless. I got distracted and so ended up sipping from my mug an hour after making my cuppa… and let’s just say never again. The contrast is just too strong, between hot and cool. I need to try it waterbottle brewed.

My original plan of adding this to smoothies seems to be failing. I can’t taste it, everything is so overpowering!
Granted, kale and parsley are relatively strong greens. Bah. I need to repurpose my wheatgrass matcha. Perhaps I’ll have to do it up as just a regular latte. Sad because I love my vegetables etc, but can only handle so much green stuff in one day, so that means my wheatgrass consumption will be cut in half!
On the bright side, I can now start using that awful white matcha tea I have leftover. Any bitterness will be hidden. yay!

I actually remembered to sift today. More often than not I forget.
Only I used a different bowl since my regular one was in the dishwasher, and I think it made my matcha taste mucky a little. Still tasty overall, but it kept settling on the bottom and I could feel the sediment when sipping. Oh well, lesson learned.
Note to self: do not use glass bowls when whisking delicious caffeinated beverages!

I made a veggie smoothie! parsley, cucumber, frozen green beans, chlorella, oj, ice, and hemp seeds. Pretty darn tasty, I gotta say. Only issue is that now I am freezing and need a tea to warm up :)

I cannot say enough good things about this matcha. It is a perfect afternoon pick-me-up. I like that it’s made with wheatgrass, since it is something that I don’t like to drink on it’s own I feel better that I’m able to consume it in a more palatable manner.

First off, I will admit that I am a huge fan of matcha in general. That being said, this tea truly is the best of all possible worlds. You get the inherent health benefits that come with matcha (ingesting the entire, powdered leaf, instead of just steeping) and the additional benefit of the wheatgrass. All this, and an all-natural, sustained energy-boost?

Like all RedLeaf Matcha the color is very verdantly green, but due to the wheatgrass it tends to be a little lighter than some of their others. After whisking up a cup, the flavor is very vegetal. It has the smell and flavor of fresh-cut grass, and I mean that in the best possible way. It tastes fresh, crisp and warmly -if ever so subtly – sweet.

It’s perfect for re-energizing during the post-lunch 2-3pm drag, and a good replacement of the post-coffee-guzzling-guilt.
