This is just sex. Can I say that? Well anyway its better I dare to say.
Its like drinking a cup of maple syrup mixed with sweet cream and milk because I mixed this matcha powder with those things. I am going to do this review super fast because I want to go enjoy this cup alone in my room – yup its so good.
I mean the maple in this is A MAZE ING!
The flavor lingers on the lips causing a lot of licking to go down.
This is sinful.
As soon as my gift certificate is updated for reviews I am order a REALLY BIG size of this!
I get robust flavor because I like my matcha to be ROBUST!
If you are more shy you could go delicate but I dare you to go bold with this one!
You won’t want to share.
This is the matcha you don’t introduce to your friends out of fear they will take it from you!
Now to be fair I had my daughter try it and she said “Meh I’ve had better” to which I cracked up laughing as she has no idea the tone of my review and she is only 17 so what does she know right?
She only tries a sip of my matcha now and then anyway but she said she liked almond better.
I mean who can really compare one to another – life is full of flavor and we shall have it all thanks to Red Leaf Tea!
YUM!

Azzrian you are an angel! Thanks!

I started with 2 matcha scoops and ended up doing 4. A Double-Shot, my friends! Woot!

It sure DOES smell like powdered Maple Syrup! Niiice! Yes…that is NICE with 3’s i’s – so you know I mean business!

The matcha base is a darker one…a quesi-grassier one…not too overly grassy but a nice ‘filling’ or fulfilling one, I guess.

The brown sugary/maple syrupy goodness shines! It REALLY does! It’s not too overwhelming but it’s JUST RIGHT!!!!

As I continue to sip it – it seems to get…creamier! Nice!

This is intensely satisfying! I may change this to a 100 soon but for now…I’ll go with a 99.

Are you kidding me? I’m the first to log this one? It’s available here: http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/maple-syrup-matcha.html

OK… so this is really good! This is the time of year that I find maple so appealing, and I guess it is because I can readily find maple candies and such in Whole Foods. (I love those maple candies) I mean, I love maple just about any time of year, but, it just seems to go with autumn.

I went with the Robust flavoring with this particular matcha, still sticking with the classic grade of Matcha, but I decided that I wanted robust with this because I REALLY wanted to taste the Maple. And I’m glad I did, because the maple flavoring is a transparent enough of a flavor that the Matcha taste still comes through … even with the robust flavoring level. I taste the sweet, delicious taste of maple and the Matcha, with its smooth, vegetative tone. The Matcha is slightly bittersweet in this particular flavor, but I think it works to this flavor’s advantage because the hint of bitter offers a hint of contrast to what otherwise might be something that could end up tasting a bit too sweet. I also do taste just a hint of that chemical-y kind of artificial-ness that sometimes I taste with the flavored Matcha … but it isn’t a strong taste … I don’t notice it a lot … only when I’m really focusing on what I’m tasting for the purpose of review. I don’t know if this is because I chose the robust flavor, or if it’s going to be there no matter which flavoring level I would have selected.

I prepared this traditionally with hot water and whisked – it frothed up really nicely, although now that I’m about halfway finished with the bowl the froth seems to have disappeared. I bet this one would be awesome as a latte. I also look forward to mixing it with the chai matcha which I have coming my way next.

A really enjoyable Matcha and I’m already starting to feel extra energized – which is good, I have to get busy with some house cleaning!

I enjoyed this much more today than I did the first time I tried it. I could taste the chemical taste to it in my first tasting, now, I can barely taste it. So therefore, I’ve decided to increase the rating.

Today I just taste sweet, delicious maple: earthy, rich, sweet … and lovely matcha: creamy, vegetative. So good.

OMG! Maple Syrup matcha is INCREDIBLE! This tastes EXACTLY like maple syrup! I mean, it’s supposed to so I don’t know why I’m surprised. I bought 30g of the classic matcha with robust flavoring. Let me first just say that 30g isn’t nearly as much as it sounds like. Maybe I just make strong, concentrated matcha, but I really should have bought more. I can tell this is going to go FAST.

The dry leaf aroma is spot on maple syrup. It reminds me of opening a 52teas’ maple blend. The aroma is exactly the same. I’ve been whisking up this matcha all week ever since it arrived. It’s a perfect flavor combination: matcha and maple. If maple syrup was sap from a maple tree, then drinking this tea is like licking the sap off a leaf. Okay, maybe that sounds gross. But it’s delicious! I promise you!

The vegetal flavor of the matcha and the sweetness of the maple create a soft, mellow, light drink. It’s not creamy and heavy like some of the other flavored matcha I’ve tried. This is just fantastic. Buying flavored matcha you haven’t tried before is like rolling the dice. It could be a winner, or it could be an odd pairing. This one is a winner!

I’m so glad I included it in my first Red Leaf Tea purchase. I can’t wait to mix this with Cheesecake matcha to make Maple Cheesecake!!! YUM!! This is delight in a cup. Pure and simple. You can get some here: http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/maple-syrup-matcha.html

I sit in the cemetery by a grave
Wondering to whom did these soldiers last wave?
Who was the last to see them before they died?
Who did they leave behind?
Who were these soldiers so strong and brave?

They died for freedom
They died with faith
Knowing that one day, we would be safe
Because of them, we are free

They rest now
That their job is done
Knowing we will not forget
As will those who come
To you!

Hug thanks to Shakirah1984 for the chance to try this (and a couple others).

I’m aware of my typo above but decided to leave it because these samples are totally worthy of a hug.

I got these in the mail today and I happen to be home, so of course I made it immediately, awesome! I followed Red Leaf’s directions for a matcha latte, and I should note this is the first homemade matcha I’ve ever had, let alone the first flavored one.

It. Is. So. Good.

I can taste the maple, but it’s not overwhelming. I don’t really know what else to tell you because I have no basis for comparison, it’s tasty, you guys. That is all.

I’m really sad because now I have to buy some at some point and that means I will have a long wait because this stuff isn’t cheap.

I’m even more excited to try my other two samples, Bavarian Cream and the illustrious Cheesecake.

Thanks again Shakirah1984 (rather, curse you!) :)

This is my third matcha from Red Leaf. I had a huge internal struggle trying to decide which to order (previously I’ve bought French Vanilla and Caramel, both at the ‘Delicate’ level of flavoring) and I wanted a third flavor along with my Caramel Matchacchino order (that stuff is also awesome!).

Anyhow, I decided on this, ultimately, because I love maple everything. Also I had tried a sample before and enjoyed it. I believe the flavor level was ‘Distinctive’ though.

It is tasty, and I can tell that there is a sweetness within which takes the edge off the matcha and adds some creaminess to it, however I find it disappointingly short on mapley goodness.

I guess I personally wish that there was more flavoring within the matcha for the ‘Delicate’ option, because honestly I barely taste anything aside from a mild sweetness. Based on other reviews I know this is one of the more popular offerings from Red Leaf, and I can see most people have ordered the ‘Distinctive’ or ‘Robust’ level of flavor. I found the French Vanilla lacking in flavor also, at the ‘Delicate’ level. The Caramel, however, was good; perhaps the caramel flavor used is just stronger to start with compared to the others.

I think it’s unfortunate to have to pay $6 extra to taste the maple; it should be noticeable in the ‘Delicate’ level and if you want it to blow your mind and completely hide the matcha taste, THEN pay extra to go up a level or two. I’d rather the price of the ‘Delicate’ option go up a couple bucks and have more flavor added to that to ensure it is noticeable, rather than have to pay so much more to bump up to the next level. I understand the need to have different levels available to please customers, but I definitely think it’s a problem for the base level to have such a weak taste to it.

As a disclaimer, I am a person who likes to be smacked in the face with flavor, but unfortunately it’s not in my budget to pay the asking price for Robust and even Distinctive, in size large, which I prefer to buy to make it last since shipping is so pricey to Canada. (Canadians love to drink maple syrup, didn’t you know??)

I made this as a latte, and I enjoyed it, as I said I am just a bit let down by the lack of discernible maple taste. I do plan to put in another order before the end of the month for Cheesecake and another flavor to be determined, I will have to pay for the ‘Distinctive’ just in case, as I don’t want to have another large bag of matcha where the flavoring is weaker than I’d like.

I love these products, I think Red Leaf has tapped into a unique market and there’s certainly no flavoured matchas available in my city. I plan to always have some in stock, I love to have a latte in the morning and I am looking forward to trying many more flavours as my finances allow.

Will I drink all of this with pleasure?? Of COURSE! I just find it kind of crazy that the ‘Delicate’ option for one flavor (Caramel) could be so much tastier than another flavor. Kind of inconsistent, though I realize this would likely be the flavoring used more so than anything, but I wish more flavor would be added accordingly to compensate. The ‘Delicate’ option should taste like its namesake for all of the matcha flavours, and I don’t feel this one does.

Luckily, being the proud Canadian that I am I always have a bottle of pure maple syrup in the house so I can easily jazz this up to my tastes.

Get yours here: (I’d just recommend Distinctive level at least)

When I received my package of Red Leaf matchas, this and the Caramel flavour were the first two I tried. I just knew that they would be my favourites. I was SO RIGHT! I love the Maple Syrup flavour!

I ordered the classic grade of matcha with a robust flavour level. I’m so glad I got the stronger flavouring, as while I like green tea, I really wanted to taste the maple syrup, not the matcha. I’m drinking matcha partly for its antioxidant benefits, so am trying to get in the habit of having some in the morning before work, and I don’t always feel like matcha then. Maple syrup, however, I seem to always be in the mood for.

It was pretty good when I tried it straight-up, but my whisking skills need to be improved (I’m new to matcha). My favourite way to drink it at the moment is to put it in the blender with some vanilla almond milk and blend it until it’s nice and frothy. Quick and easy in the morning, and a treat before I go to work. I added some extra maple syrup one time, and it tasted great, but was really unnecessary. It tastes enough like maple syrup on its own.

I got mine at http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/maple-syrup-matcha.html , and I took advantage of the buy 5, get 2 free deal, which was wonderful.

After reading the reviews for this I was absolutely excited to step into the world of Matchas. Even better, maple syrup is my favorite flavor of just about anything. They make maple syrup matcha! What what what!! Being that I am an absolute newbie to the Matcha world, I followed the directions for making a ice brew. I crowned the 2 oz’s of water with 8 oz of vanilla almond milk with a touch of heavy cream. (I can’t drink regular milk) I found it oddly vegetal. Not quite what I expected when past reviews have talked about how amazingly sweet it is. I barely tasted the maple syrup? It might be my taste buds are not used to it, or maybe I prepared it incorrectly. Not sure. I ended up tossing in 1 tbs of maple syrup for good measure and that made all the difference in the world. It really brought all the flavors together. I think I am going to keep on trying the flavored Matchas and see if I can become a pro at preparing them.
