I have to say, I had an awesome time mixing up this deliciousness this morning. Light and sweet, super creamy as an iced latte – what an awesome 2nd day of Christmas!

I am a day late on Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas swap due to, well, not having internet on day 2 but better late than never!
I made a small iced latte with this (since it’s late and I would rather not od on caffeine) and it’s Valentine’s Day in a cup. Sweet strawberry, smooth champagne, and I think in combination these flavors are better than separate. I found my champagne matcha a little bubblegum-y, but there’s none of that here. And the strawberry definitely doesn’t taste artificial! I put quite a bit of sugar in (come on, it’s a love tea!) and this is such a sweet, creamy treat. And such a nice twist on day 2’s theme! People are being so creative, makes me a bit worried about my day. I hope everyone likes it!
On a side note, I think I am going to make some little tea cakes with this for Valentine’s Day, maybe with whipped cream frosting. Mmmm.

I prepared it as a latte, using mostly hot water and a splash or two of half & half to make a latte, and it turned out amazing. AMAZING. It is truly strawberry and champagne, and I think I like this better than the straightforward strawberry matcha … the champagne complements the strawberry perfectly… truly is a match made for life! :)

Sooooo i feel bad because this was one of the the 12 days of christmas tea swaps..and uh it’s almost summer. So my apologies to Azzrian! I blame my pregnant friend since i had finally gotten to a point when i was comfortable enough to open some new matchas, and she dumped another 7 full tins of matcha on me. So i had to get through all of those ones before i was able to open this. But the minute i had room to open a new one, THIS was the first one i opened.
I really like the flavour of this one. I don’t think i’d like champagne matcha on it’s own, but paired with the strawberry, this makes for a really nice “bubbly” strawberry flavoured champagne matcha! thank you so much azzrian for this creative take on your day!
Many thanks to Azzrian for this wonderful treat! I’ve been wanting to try Red Leaf for months, mostly because of Azzrian’s reviews and this is my first (professionally) flavored matcha! I was overwhelmed by the scent of this when it first arrived weeks ago and have been looking forward to it ever since. This also came with a cute card with two turtle and dove hybrid cartoons, in a lovely wax sealed envelope with an adorable wee wooden spoon attached!
I got three unique brews out of this today. One a small cup with cold milk shared with my housewights, the second a mug with hot water and the third a large and quite strong batch whisked with cold milk and sugar, drunk from a wine glass. The last was my favorite ;) I was hoping to share some of this with my husband, but he took one look at the sage brew in the stemware and said “no way”. His loss.
This is really delicious and I wanted to keep on drinking, but the buzz attacked quickly the third time round and I had to set it aside. Hopefully it will keep covered in the fridge till morning, I will re-whisk of course, it should be a nice jolt to start a busy day. I will not wax poetic about the taste as it is almost 1 am (actually not that unusual for me to be up this late). But suffice it to say it is a creamy, sweet and smooth, decadent treat that lingers on the lips (I could taste it long after when I sipped water). Ironically it does remind me a bit of lip gloss in taste, but in a very fond way.
One day I hope to order from Red Leaf, when our budget allows and I’m sure then I will think fondly of Azzrian for introducing me. Cheers!
Many thanks to Azzrian for this! I’m not a huge flavored matcha fan. But this is something special! It smells and tastes just like Strawberries and Champagne! But with a rich creamy flavor to it. Yum! I wrote more on the blog (link below). I also want another cup, but seeing as it is now almost 10pm I think I’ll pass…
This was my first ever cuppa matcha. As a result I don’t feel comfortable rating it as I have no point of reference to compare it too.
I did really enjoy this – both the aroma and the taste. It actually tasted quite sexy to me!

Azzrian – I really loved the seal and the explanation on your card! I laughed at the “whips and chains” part of romance. ;) We have a similar sense of humor – too funny! :) Thanks for creating such a unique tea to taste. I definitely want to order more! :)
Day 2 of the 12 days exchange. I’ll tell you, this is blowing my advent calendar out of the water!
This became my very first matcha latte. It was pure heaven! I’m almost ashamed to admit that I have never had actual champagne. I can’t actually tell you how realistic it tastes, but it’s naturally sweet and smooth. I love it!
Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas.
I have come to like matcha, however wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this one. Never been a fan of champagne, beer, wine. And this smelt remarkably like beer.
I would have to say this is probably highly true to the taste of Strawberry Champagne. I’m not gonna leave a numerical rating, because it’s just not my cup of tea. Made this the way I do all Matcha in my metal cocktail shaker with ice & milk
