Peppermint Rooibos from Rishi Tea

Peppermint Rooibos

Herbal Rooibos Blend by Rishi Tea

Peppermint Rooibos has a deep red infusion with a fresh minty flavor and aroma. It’s great hot or iced with a wedge of lemon or lime. Unlike other teas, Rooibos is devoid of bitterness and naturally sweet without sugar.

I like mint. I like a lot of mint. I think I like mint that may blow other people’s taste buds out.

I like this tea, but I was hoping for more mint, less rooibos. It’s got an earthy backnote to it, and the light, clean note of the peppermint. However, I am enjoying this cuppa, and will be quite happy to polish off this sample from Lena.

What am I doing drinking a blend with both peppermint and rooibos in it? The word “bergamot” drew me in, much like the glittering windows at Tiffany’s did the other day. Also they were out of earl grey and I was desperate. Anyway, peppermint rooibos. Eh. I think the addition of bergamot is a little pointless to be honest – as per usual the peppermint overwhelms and the rooibos gives it that piney rooibos aftertaste. Yep. Regret in a cup.

YUM! A perfect combo of rooibos and peppermint. The peppermint is pretty overwhelming, but in a good way (if you like peppermint, that is). The rooibos backs up the taste with its full body of earthy goodness. I’m finding ZERO unpleasantries. No sugar needed. This would be great iced…maybe then I’d add a little sweetener. Super fresh tasting and my mouth is all tingly with peppermint cleanness. Lovely fresh aftertaste as well. This would be great to drink after a heavy meal.
A great choice to start my Friday!

I enjoyed a few cups of this throughout the day. My stomach was a little upset from last night’s Thai food binge. Oh man, I love Thai food! The family that owns the Thai joint that I go to uses a spicy scale of 1-5, five being “ethnic”. Of course I’m all about eating as authentic and ethnic as possible, so I went for the big 5. The server smiled.

My husband and I go to this restaurant once every 1-2 weeks, so they know us well. Well enough to send us a Christmas card in the mail, as a matter of fact. (We’re good customers.) It was totally worth the burn…and this tea did help soothe. At least I think it helped…maybe I’m developing a cast iron “ethnic” stomach.

LOTS O’ PEPPERMINT! While it’s very refreshing, and would be pleasing in summer or winter, it’s frustrating how teensy the pieces of rooibos and peppermint are – they seem to seep through any sort of straining device into your cup. So long as you can overlook sediment though, this peppermint tisane is a win.

Great alternative to plain old peppermint. The rooibos adds a little more body, without competing. This is perfect when I’m avoiding caffeine but still want to feel refreshed and alert. No need for sugar even. It also tastes similar to Foxtrot, but lacks the sleepyness inducing chamomile element.

I love Rishi Tea’s organic peppermint tea and also its organic rooibos tea so I thought that this would be a perfect blend of the two. However, I was most definitely wrong. The tea doesn’t have a strong enough peppermint flavor and honestly the blend tastes “off” and a bit bland (even the first steep). I will not be drinking this again and I wouldn’t recommend this tea to others. You’re better off making a hot cup of their peppermint tea!

This could quite possibly be my new favorite peppermint tea. That really surprised me because I’m not a huge fan of rooibos. The taste of this is overwhelmingly peppermint on the first steep, but the second I get more of the rooibos coming through. I thought the second steep was a little weak so I mixed the two together and I think that it is about perfect for me.

I used a bagged version of this and it just dawned on me that I used one bag to 16oz of water rather than 8oz [see what happens when your sick, you just don’t pay attention to details]. I really think this might have been overpowering if I had done it correctly, my first steep was incredibly strong even with the extra water. Still, this was really yummy and made my sore throat feel a million times better.

Great tea after a meal. It is refreshing and strong – just the way I like it. I lean towards rooibos teas so this blend is perfect. Another staple. Love it.

as a peppermint/bergamot lover, this tea did it for me. I wanted a wonderful, strong, aromatic peppermint, and this one definitely does the trick. and because it’s rooibos, its a bit sweeter than plain peppermint and gives a beautiful burgundy liquor.
This has to be one of my favorite teas of all time, it’s a staple in my cupboard

Had my first cup of this tea tonight and I thought it was quite good. I’m not sure quite what I expected before I took my first sip but I thought it would be slightly sweet although this was probably just some preconceived notion drawn from some super sweetened artificially flavored peppermint tea I had drank in the past. Anyway, I steeped for 7 minutes and I honestly did not taste the rooibos all that much. I’ve always found rooibos to just taste kind of earthy based on the what I’ve drank in the past. I’m pretty new to the world of tea so my tongue might be off but I just found the flavor to be simply very minty. This didn’t bother me in the least bit cause I like the taste of mint. I actually found it almost cooled my mouth. Anyway, I didn’t find the tea incredible but, whenever I’m in the mood to treat my tongue to a nice minty experience, I’ll brew up a pot of this stuff.

Most striking mint tea I’ve had. Excellent flavor and after taste, and tastes fine on 2nd infusion

I tried this out yesterday for the first time, and it was really good! The mint flavor was great and didn’t taste artificial to me.

Boy am I really milking this one! I have enough for one more serving, and I’m going to be resteeping the leaves I’m sipping up now. I have completely and utterly fallen in love with you, Peppermint Rooibos. I love everything about you! You are so versatile. You love cold and hot. You are still great room temperature. I changed my rating from 92 to 100!

I bought some Peppermint from Adagio in the hopes of recreating this in some way.

This blend, however, has “natural essential oils of bergamot and peppermint” so I’m assuming that enhances the flavors. Anyhow, I have this strange idea about trying to add a dash of MILK to this! I’ll try it on my second steep! >_<

I mixed about 1/2 teaspoon of this with 1 teaspoon of Adagio’s Lemon Grass. Soothes my sore throat and leaves a nice cool effect in my throat. Gotta load up on the fluids!

I cold brewed this herbal. It is so delicious and refreshing!

This is probably my favorite peppermint tea. It is really refreshing… feels like I just brushed my teeth or something!

I’m a Mint-Freak! If you are, too, this is the Tea for YOU! Everything about it is a real eye opener! The smell, the taste, the color…all fantastic! I absolutely LOVE it! Totally intense!

Has it really been 4 years since I have drank this?
Thanks to Azzrian I was able to have some more! Thanks so much! See other notes :)

Awww…this is the last of my Rishi! Bummer…I will have to enjoy it while I can…I LOVE THIS STUFF! (But you REALLY have to like Peppermint! Which I do!)

NEEDED this to off set some of the awful tea aftertastes I’ve had so far today. I LOVE THIS TEA and I’m almost out of it. Lasted a long time tho! Only about 2 more steeps left

:)

Great follow up to a spicy tea or meal!

Hello Peppermint!
