Red shiso leaf is a classic ingredient in Japanese cuisine and has a slightly tart and fruity flavor. Used in pickled plums and a host of other dishes, the unique character of red shiso gives this signature Rishi blend a naturally fruity flavor reminiscent of sweet Japanese plum wine. We developed a unique drying process and blending technique that captures the fresh essence of red shiso without the use of added flavors.
