This tea is one of my very favorites. The black tea is full bodied and complex, while the lavender and rose give it this strongly floral bouquet. The result is exceptionally fine. I don’t usually buy the blend with peach/mango flavors, as I find that quickly pushes it into candied tea territory, and I think the black teas in this deserve better. Very nice with a little milk.
Empress Blend Rajini
This refined ‘Queen’s tea’, as the Sanskrit names implies, is a blend of good quality Black tea, lavender, and rose petals with mango and peach flavor. Drawing inspiration from Queen Victoria’s role as the Empress of India, this tea looks back to the Nineteenth Century when India was considered the jewel in the crown of the British Empire. By the end of 1947, India had achieved independence but not before both cultures had deeply influenced each other which is reflected in the unique blend of tea.
