On first smell, this tea embodies a very rich earthiness, both in the dry leaves and in the liquors aroma. First sip..? This tea is bold! I can taste some sweetness, peppery notes and some citrus-y flavors (which may be the tannins of the tea coming out). I really like the boldness of the tea…

Wow if this is normal then by gosh I can finally say I am. Trust me if you knew me, you would know that I am not usually referred to as a normal person. Of course, I don’t consider this as a negative at all. Even now not so normal things are afoot. I am drinking this tea before bed and for some reason as I am typing this my inner monologue has a British accent. I blame Dr. Who for that. Been pretty much watching Dr. Who on Netflix off and on all throughout the day. Now to the point, sorry about the rambling.

Amazingly good. I will be keeping this in my permanent stash. It is rich, bold, brisk, malty, a bit astringent. This is a tea with an attitude I can relate with. This tea is just trying to act normal but is anything but. Delicious and highly recommended.

Who can act normal with a tea like this? Certainly not my humans (as if they ever act normal, at least in this little teapot’s estimation). We all got to try this black tea from Jimmy at Shui Tea (the guy that on Twitter drinks straight from his teapot – yeah, that guy!). http://is.gd/dp3I1

I love the fragrance of this tea; it has notes of black pepper and just a bit of citrus.

Brewed, the tea is bold, bright and crisp. The peppery fragrance remains but there’s also a subtle perfume about it.

I like black tea really strong. Subsequent infusions were more mellow and had a sweeter profile so this is a use-it-once tea for me.
