I bought this to reach the free shipping price. I don’t find it mind blowing but it’s a nice oolong to have with food, or if you want a pleasant, light and fresh tasting oolong. At first sip I was pretty disappointed; it was very light. But as it cooled it really came into its own, very floral. The second steep had the nicest mouthfeel, although I steeped it a little too long I think; it seemed to hit a sharp floral note as I swallowed that I think would been lessened if it was steeped a little less time. Overall, I’m happy.
Jade Oolong - Huan Jin Gui
One of the first oolongs harvested in early spring, this small-leaf varietal is known for its light-green appearance and light fresh, sweet taste. The leaf is comparatively small and light in coloration; hence it is often called Jade Oolong. This lot was made by a family of tea makers in the AnXi Region of Fujian Province. This oolong is “Se Zhong” style which is a blend of high-grade leaves offering a golden-green liquor color, with a lightly floral aroma and a delicate mouth taste. This tea goes very well with food.
