This is exactly what I wanted right now.

I’ve been drinking a lot of lemongrassy teas lately, I think I have a craving. I even made bo kho, with super strong lemongrass tea (didn’t want to go to the store to get a couple stalks) and it was so amazing and lemongrassy. Yum.

I added a couple small pieces of rock sugar while it was steeping.

I really enjoy this tea. I ordered 5 teas from silk road and I’ve liked them all. Oddly, even the lychee fruit that smells like tobacco and tastes a little like stewed tomatoes has grown on me and I find myself reaching for it more often than I thought.

This tea is light and refreshing, and tastes like lemon lime. I haven’t tried it iced and I’m not sure I will as it is too cold now, but I imagine this would be perfect iced. The green tea base is not the slightest bit vegetal which to me is awesome. It smells mainly of lemongrass with a hint of lime and I find myself opening this tin often just to smell it.

The thing I love most about Silk Road is that all of their teas are organic and they taste natural, unlike some organic teas that still taste artificial to me even though I know they’re not. I also like the fact that they are based in Victoria, BC, so close to home! I definitely recommend to anyone to try some of their tea. I will be making a second order soon to restock 3 of the 5 teas I ordered and to get samples of many more teas that I want to try.

Ahh lemongrass. I still don’t know if I like it or hate it. It’s just… there.

This tea is what I would describe as bright. It has a lovely, clean juicy citrus scent. When steeped the green tea is mellow and the lemon and lime tastes are in perfect proportion. The lemongrass adds a nice lemony soft taste to the bunch, you can taste all the flavours at once in this tea. Not too much or too little, just right. If you want to try a citrus green tea that is not too bland and not too tart try this!
