Kruidenthee van de zoete bladeren van een Hortensia variëteit. Intens zoet.

Op 8 april herdenkt Japan Boeddha’s geboorte. Baby Siddharta, de latere Boeddha, wordt symbolisch met Amacha gewassen, waarna deze drank wordt gedronken. ‘Ama’ betekent zoet, ‘cha’ is thee. Japanners kennen er magische krachten aan toe, zoals het uitbannen van kwade geesten.

Amacha wordt gemaakt van de zoete bladeren van een variëteit van de Hydrangea serrata, de hortensia.
