From Simple Loose Leaf

This vibrant blend combines a fresh Chinese Young Hyson green tea with peppermint leaves, raspberry and vanilla flavors. This refreshing and versatile green tea boasts fresh, intoxicating flavors that will keep you coming back for more. Perfect any time hot and exceptional iced with a touch of sweetener.

Young Hyson Chinese Green Tea, Peppermint, Raspberry Flavor, Vanilla Flavor, Raspberries

Measure the desired amount of tea leaves and place into a teapot or teacup. Use 2 – 3 tsp or 2.3 g of green tea for every 8 oz (1 cup) of water. Heat water until steam rises at 180 degrees F (82 degrees C). Add enough hot water to submerse the tea leaves and let it sit for a few seconds before pouring out the water. Warming the tea leaves and teaware allow for a better brew. Add hot water and let the tea leaves steep for 2 to 3 minutes.

Yum, this tea was unexpectedly good! This one was a last minute selection – I figure it was interesting enough to give a try as I had room for another tea, but it wasn’t as cool as the other teas I already decided to get for Simple Loose Leaf’s custom tea subscription.

It’s a light green blend, that is lightly raspberry in flavor, but with lots of vanilla and mint. With some sweetener, this tea really shines, tasting like creamy berry yogurt or mousse, with a hit of mint garnish at the end. NOm NOM, I’m one of those weirdos that eats the garnish (if I deem it safe to eat, lol)

LOVED this blend. This was the first tea that I tried from the “Selection Club” box that I received in March. I changed my subscription to the Selection Club and I could not be happier with this service!

Seriously, I LOVE Simple Loose Leaf. They offer exceptional customer service. If I have a problem they get back to me right away. Admittedly, I’ve only had one problem to date but that problem was MY mistake, and they still went above and beyond to correct the problem. That’s the kind of company I like to deal with.

Getting back to this tea, this is delicious and is quite probably my favorite that I’ve tried from Simple Loose Leaf yet. I taste the raspberry, the mint, the vanilla and the green tea. I love that all flavors are represented in a very clear way with this blend. The raspberry is sweet-tart, the mint is crisp and cool and doesn’t overpower, the vanilla is soft and creamy.

If I’m to offer any complaint about this blend, it would be that I think the green tea should be a little more prominent (because, after all, I’m drinking tea.) But that isn’t to say that the green tea is absent, it isn’t. I just want more green tea flavor, I think.

Regardless, I loved this. And my youngest daughter LOVED this. It may be her favorite green tea yet.

Note: I’m a little torn about how to rate this. If it’s not my favorite that I’ve tasted from Simple Loose Leaf, then it’s up there in at least the top three … that should mean that it gets super high marks, right? But, I do think that the green tea should be a stronger presence. So, that should subtract points, right? So, rather than try to rate it, I’ll just recommend it and not give it a numeric rating.

It’s good, you should try it!

This tea was part of the March Selection Club This tea has only a hint of raspberry, but it mingles with the vanilla and mint for a beautifully balanced cup of tea. It’s not the type of blend I would have normally ordered for myself even though I love green tea, I’m just not a huge fan of raspberries unless they are fresh off the vine, but I really enjoyed this. The vanilla lends a somewhat creamy flavor, smoothing out the more tart notes of the raspberry and the mint sits on your tongue long after your cup of tea is gone. While I really enjoyed trying this tea hot, it truly excels as an iced tea and makes me look forward to the hot days of summer that are just around the corner.

Wish they shipped to canada

Short Sorceress

just let me know if you’d be interested in swapping, I have about 10 of their teas right now.

Sil- they are apparently doing a trial with one lucky Canadian right now. Based on how it goes, they said they might open it up to more Canadians in two weeks! (I asked in the forums)

i saw that haha :)

Yes, it’s good, and yes, I ‘d restock it, and yes I wish this wasn’t a sipdown (216).

It’s just light and creamy and minty (but not too minty) and the cream is wrapped around a subtle amount of raspberry that makes me keep reaching for it…

Thank you Sil!

I think if Simple Loose Leaf does open up to Canadian subscribers (like they are considering) I will sign up immediately!

Another tea from awkward soul via Terri. I figured i should have one green tea today..i guess. Frankly the whole commercial weirdo holiday thing makes my brain hurt. This is a really lovely vanilla mint green tea. I know it SAYS raspberry but to my there’s only the hint of fruitiness in thebackground. It’s like the raspberry isn’t quite ready to come out and play. It DOES add something to the tea as it’s not quite JUST a vanilla mint green..but it’s not strong enough for me to say YES! Raspberry! YES!
