From Simple Loose Leaf

For the first time, the bold, aromatic flavors of coffee are introduced to our smooth South Indian black tea. This marriage is celebrated with spicy cocoa and creamy yogurt chips, surprising our senses and delighting anyone who thought they would never savor the best of both worlds. Incredible hot.

This tea is for coffee drinkers. Whether you are trying to cut down coffee and move into drinking tea, or enjoy the odd cup of coffee, Coco Creme black would be a nice coffee flavored tea for you. My dad is visiting from Canada for the holidays in a few days and he will LOVE this tea as a coffee and chai drinker.

There is a watery chocolate flavor up front, followed up with a nice brisk black tea base. The base is my fav part of this tea! The tea then has a strong coffee and creamy flavor that is a little tart and dry. It’s like having a chocolate tea slowly turn into a cup of coffee! I wish there was more chocolate (and less coffee) in the blend. Since I’m not a coffee drinker, this was too coffee for me. I can see this being a decent latte though.

Sil

we haven’t ordered from here yet right terri?

Terri HarpLady

nope, not yet! But I did place an order with A & D, restocking all our favorites plus the Screee!!

Sil

(also i totally just spent like 10 mins revisiting all of awkward soul’s knitting/crochet stuff..good times!)

Terri HarpLady

I used to crochet. I’d really like to learn to knit, if I only I had more time!

Awkward Soul / Oolong Owl

I’m working on a new knitting pattern right now. Top secret! I’m also rebuilding the crochet/knitting blog once the holidays are over.

Cavocorax

Exciting! I love your owls – I was thinking I’d like to try making them once I finally learn crochet, but know I know you have knitting patterns I’ll be keeping an eye out on your blog/ravelry.

Backlog:

I ordered this tea because it says “cocoa cream” … what does that communicate to you? To me, it means CHOCOLATE and cream. It doesn’t speak of coffee to me. But when I opened the pouch, I smelled coffee. Ack!

I was pretty disappointed with this tea.

BUT … I am very happy with how Simple Loose Leaf handled the situation! They got in touch with me immediately and offered me my choice: a replacement tea, or several samples to replace it. As I am more of a tea taster than I am a dedicated drinker to one type of tea, I chose the samples. They sent me three different samples to try in place of this tea. And I’m very happy with that.

They really didn’t need to do that, because my disappointment with this tea was not Simple Loose Leaf’s fault. It was mine for not reading the description thoroughly. Had I read the description, I would have seen that it is a tea that has coffee in it. I wouldn’t have ordered it if I had read the description … but i didn’t, and that’s my fault.

So, I am extraordinarily pleased with this company’s customer service! Therefore, I’m not going to rate this tea.

Ze_Teamaker

hmmm…. maybe a name change is in order. I was thinking that it was chocolate and cream too.

LiberTEAS

There are chocolate-y notes in there too … but mostly it smells and tastes of coffee. I think that the name should reflect that … like Mocha or something.

Ze_Teamaker

Si, that would be better.

What a strange tea. Unfortunately I was expecting coconut—mom read some names out to me and I heard “coco cream”—so this is pretty much the last thing I expected. This is like a watery mocha in tea form, which I’m not sure I understand. It’s very strongly coffee with a little bit of chocolate. I don’t notice the creme brulee flavor at all, which is sad, and the yogurt is also missing for me. Not sure I like this, but then my stomach has been off today and this is not at all what I was hoping it would be so I’ll hold off on rating it until I can appreciate it for what it is.

Ok. this is another one from Sil-zilla. giggles

It’s really nice! I don’t get much chocolate from it, but it’s creamy and a little sweet. It’s almost mocha-ish, instead of chocolate. Odd! But good.

Thanks!

Sil

this one made me drool a little from a creamy coffee like substance

I’m having a rough day. Yesterday was also a rough day. I have a kink that runs from the base of my skull on the left, through various points in my neck, shoulder blade, rotator, elbow, wrist, & down into the hand. Over the years I’ve sustained several injuries to my left side, & I’m here to tell the young people in the room, be good to your body, because as you grow older (I’m 55), every injury you’ve ever had will come back to haunt you…again & again. So…whether it’s the junk food I ate over the weekend (chronic inflammation flareup = the cause of most autoimmune diseases, including arthritis, tendonitis, diabetes, heart disease, etc), the weather changes, the fact that I just started Taichi again after a fairly long hiatus (you get that energy moving along those meridians & it hits blockages, which results in pain, at least at first), or a combo of all of the above, I’m kind of bitchy right now, & my only friends today have been an ice pack alternating with a hot rice sock, & another sock with 2 tennis balls in it. I hate pain. I suffered a week ago from accidentally eating something with nitrates in it, & I used to be in pain all the time. So after months of living pain free, due to changes in my diet, I’m not very happy today.

As my dear Tea Fairie said, “We can still enjoy tea” (or something like that).
So I’m doing some flavored teas now…this one is from Awkward Soul, sent for Sil & I to share. It has coffee in it, I saw the granules in the mix. It also has chocolate. I don’t drink coffee, but I also don’t hate coffee, so I’m actually enjoying this cup a little. I added stevia & vanilla almond milk, because I was feeling whiny & nostalgic, & without the sweetening, the tea sucked. The rest goes to Sil, so I get to claim a sipdown. I was at 327, but I just added 6 teas that came in the mail today, so now I’m at 331.
I’ll quit bitching now.

Courtney

I hope the pain passes quickly!

CharlotteZero

I hope you feel better soon…

Sil

six teas in the mail!

Nattie

Hope you’re feeling well soon! This tea sounds lovely (:

caile

Hope you’ll be feeling better soon!

Terri HarpLady

Thanks you guys :)

mrmopar

I know the pain also. The weather transportation backup has us at least 10 hours and sometimes 12 hour shifts. The old body lets you know about it too. I hope you get feeling better soon. nothing better than a cuppa some days.
