From SpecialTeas

The taste of summer any time of year! A wonderful berry blend with a fresh blueberry flavor. Lower in tartness than most fruit blends and lighter bodied. Makes a fabulous iced tea! Naturally caffeine free.

Recommendations: Use 1 heaping tsp. per 6 oz. cup; heat fresh water to a roaring boil; let steep for 7-10 min.

Ingredients: Blueberries, grapes, hibiscus, beetroot bits, black currant leaves, black currants, flavoring

One cup away from an empty package of this one, but I enjoyed it immensely. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the fact that I was rocking gently in the patio glider, temps were in the lowish 70’s, had a good book in my lap, and the lawn was finally mowed.

Love this one because it is truly fruity and not tart. Probably won’t shop for an equivalent until spring, but I hope I can find one.

I’m going to try this again. My first date with Blueberry Cocktail was disappointing. The hibiscus taste (or at least I think it is hibiscus) runs away with the whole gestalt. There are ample blueberries in the dry tea. Plenty of blueberries! And yet, perhaps, the other components overwhelm the blueberry.

For me, the hibiscus comes across as a loud and brassy citrus-y note, but without the clear flavor of an orange, grapefruit, lemon, or lime.

I agree with the hibiscus comment. I also thought it had a lot of grape flavor. But, the more I drank it, the more I liked it. And I love the way it makes the house smell like blueberry pop-tarts. I didn’t like this one when I first tried it, but I just ordered a whole bag of it yesterday. BTW, it tastes great cold.

Did you add any sugar to this? If not, try it with a little sugar or agave nectar.

Blech. Too much hibiscus ruins so many otherwise-good fruit blends

I did add some sugar. I think this might be ok as an iced tea but I don’t think I’ll buy it again. Yes, I’m going to, in the future, avoid tea with added hibiscus unless it gets excellent reviews.

This tea is fantastic iced. Needs no sweetener (coming from someone who sweetens almost all teas).

Cold brewed. 1 Tbsp for each 16 oz water.

So, if this is the same as blueberry syrup from California Teas, which I am certain it is…this is a very good fruit “tea”…

Kristin

They do look very similar. Looks like the SpecialTeas version is much much cheaper though. :)
