I’m not a huge fan of red fruit teas, particularly those with either hibiscus or rose-hips as primary ingredients, but I’ll try anything once! Alas, this one tastes just like all of the other types I don’t much like- like warm jell-o. I wanted to love it because of how delectable it smells in the pouch, and even in the cup. And the idea of Strawberries and Cream in a tea makes me salivate. But plegh. Please take this review with a grain of salt of you tend to enjoy berry fruit teas. (I feel badly, because Kristin gifted me with this- but it’s just not for me.)

This tea is so yummy! When I was a kid, little wild strawberries grew all over my grandmothers property in the mountains of North Carolina. We’d go out and pick them by the bucketload and then my grandmother would make strawberry cobbler with drop biscuit dumplings. That is exactly what this tea tastes like. It’s like biting into warm cooked strawberries that are sweet and slightly tart. I only have a sample of this and I’m sure it will be gone in no time but it will definitely be on my reorder list. I have to say that I am normally disappointed in fruit herbals, but this one is great.

I added a touch of agave nectar to this before I even tasted it. It probably doesn’t need it.

Steeped 10 min as suggested on package. Used 2 tsp for about 11 oz.

Update – as it is cooling, I am starting to pick up some floral notes, but they are definitely background flavors.

Update – had to lower my rating as the whole bag that I got after this sample does not taste the same. The whole bag is much more floral.

This tea really let me down tonight. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not feeling well or if it is because it is a new bag. I will try it again before I drop my rating. I had a sample of it and loved it so I ordered a whole bag. Perhaps it’s a different batch?

Anyway, this was so floral tonight. It reminded me of that tea that I hated from Teavana – Garden Aria. I looked at the ingredients that those two teas have in common and apparently it is the rosehips that I hate. I didn’t taste any floral notes in the sample I had but tonight, I couldn’t even finish this cup of tea. If it still tastes like this next time I try it, I’m going to have to see if I can return it.

Update – can’t bring myself to drink it again.

Today I used 1.5 tsp and steeped for 7 minutes. I definitely liked it more yesterday when I steeped it longer and used a little more tea. The strawberry flavors really start to come out when it gets more syrupy.
