Wow. A China black unlike any of the Keemuns or Yunnans. When I smell this it reminds me of fresh oatmeal cookies. Incredible.
China Emperors Red (Fujian)
This tea has quickly become one of our most sought-after top grade China Black teas. Entirely handmade on a small tea farm in Northern Fujian Province in China, it is grown without man-made pesticides or herbicides, and picked only from the most delicate and aromatic spring leaves. The Emperor’s Red is a truly royal tea that once tasted will not be forgotten. Its general attributes are similar to the Golden Monkey but the leaf is finer and the aroma even more pronounced. The combination of naturally sweet cocoa notes, softness and complexity are unmatched by any other tea.
Tippier than last year’s, the new Emperor’s Red is softly sweet and smooth with subtle spicy-fruity notes. It can be brewed light or strong; the taste will remain smooth without astringency. Its high quality and wide appeal make it a great tea to serve to your guests. Recommendations: Use 1 heaping tsp. per 6 oz. cup; heat fresh water to a roaring boil; let steep for 3-4 min. Good for multiple infusions.
