A good cup! Very reminiscent of fresh baked almond cookies. I prepared mine with a splash of milk and a dash of sugar, which is standard operating procedure with most black teas at my house, and I think it enhanced my cuppa. If you like tea and you also like almond cookies you’ll probably find from in your tea cabinet for this one.

QueenOfTarts, thank you for sending me a sample of this!!! Reading the description here about the windmill cookies definitely sparked my interest – they are a favourite of my mum, brothers and I, especially with a cup of tea!
I should have steeped this longer, it seems like it could be a tiny bit weak. But that may just be because I want MORE of this, lol. It really tastes delicious. Not much almond flavour to be found, but it truly reminds me of the windmill cookies! A hint of cinnamon, and maybe it’s forced/imaginary but I get a bit of that buttery cookie-ness of those windmills too.
To make this tea even more amazing in my opinion, the smell is totally reminding me of Christmas. Warm, sweet and a hint of spice.

Cookies for breakfast. Lovely, comforting cup. Tea has slightly nutty flavor balanced nicely with the spice.

I’m drinking my first cup after getting my package from SpecialTeas in the mail today! I love it. It’s such a fall tea, though, and here I am drinking it in July…maybe I’ll try to hide it from myself until September. I have to say that the smell is better than the taste, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be chain-ordering this for the next twenty years.

This tea is pretty good, but I’m don’t think it is meeting up to the expectations based on all the hype in the reviews. Maybe I’ll change my mind after I brew it a little stronger next time.

The tea itself is gorgeous. Big fat slices of almonds mixed with beautiful safflower blossoms. It smells pretty good (pre-brewing). A mixture of almond, cinnamon, and something fruity (orange?).

Once brewed, I taste a nice black tea with a hint of cinnamon and a light almond flavor in the aftertaste. I tasted it both with and without some silk soy creamer and a little sugar.

Brewed as directed. 1 1/2 tsp for 8 oz steeped 2.5 min.

This is another tea I’ve been saving up knowing that once my tin is gone there’s no more where it came from. :(

The smell is incredible – it made me think of freshly-baked shortbread cookies and it made my stomach growl it was so good. The flavour is just as wonderful with a distinctly cookie-ish taste with just a hint of sugary sweetness and almond flavour is that of lightly toasted almonds rather than fresh (or almond extract).

I think I might be in love…which is problematic. Has anyone managed to find an alternate supplier?

I’d check to see if it’s the same ingredient list as TeaGschwendner; they supply many teas to North American companies, and have one by the same name. I’m going to hazard it is; same ingredients, and the pictures look the same. http://steepster.com/teas/simpson-and-vail/21388-almond-sugar-cookie

I liked the Almond cookie by Simpson and Vail but I’ve never had this tea before, so your results may vary :)

Jillian

Thanks for the rec, but unfortunately I’m in Canada and Simpson and Vail charge outrageous shipping costs so it’s not really an option for me. I also did a search for the tea on TeaGschwendner’s website but didn’t come up with anything.
