This one courtesy of Doulton! Thank you!

Taken with a little half and half and sugar. Mmmmmm. Very delicious dessert tea. It reminds me of Torrone Italian candy. Almond extract, sweet. Another treat we only had at Christmas.

I had to add the candy to my wish list with tears in my eyes. So beautiful!

I love the tea even though it’s making me miss my grandparents something awful.

Earlier today, when I read Stephanie’s tasting note about Almond Cookie, I had such a craving for an almond tea! I don’t have that one, but rather her less sweet sibling – Almond with Almond Pieces. No worries as this one is very, very good with extra added bonus nostalgia factor – it tastes so much to me like Torrone. A very enjoyable dessert tea with a little milk and sugar – just what I was in the mood for. Thank you Stephanie for giving me the idea!

I love almonds and almond flavors so I came to this tea with a propensity to like it and I feel abundantly rewarded. There are many flavored teas that disappoint me because I just cannot pick up on the flavor. Perhaps the fault is in my tongue or my nose, or perhaps the teas are insipid and/or cheap.

SpecialTeas has done a bang-up job with this one. With a very small amount of sugar and milk, I have a sweet and creamy and very flavorful brew in which the almond flavor really “pops.” I’m about to order some more from SpecialTeas, which is my highest accolade. When I want to make sure that I am within a minute’s reach of a tea, I know that I like it.

If you like almond, you might want to try this. It’s the first really successful nut-flavored tea I’ve had.

Hrm. I don’t have any milk at work, otherwise I’d try this with the splash. As it is, I’m underwhelmed. It’s just slightly almondy black tea. I was hoping for something a little more taste-bud-popping.

I added a little bit of milk to this and the almond flavor is greatly enhanced! Without milk, the taste is like a mild amaretto. But with milk, the almond turns wonderfully creamy! This is less sweet then Almond Cookie and non-bakery. It reminds me of those egg-white, Italian almond-puff like things. Like a bittersweet almond. The black tea base is mild and softly astringent.

This is actually pretty delicious. I’m glad I bought it at such a great deal! I may “splurge” on even more! I think this is a very good “everyday” flavored black tea.

This is perfect for when I’m gloomy and tired. I didn’t want anything complicated that I’d have to think about, just something simple and comforting. Drank, as usual, without any cup additions. Mildly sweet and maybe a little creamy with an almond extract, rather than roasted almond, flavor/scent.

Is my batch stale? I just don’t know what to make of this blend after reading the other reviews here. I basically taste a bland black tea- maybe a faint trace of flavor, but nothing more. I’d save this for when I’m in the mood for plain black tea, I suppose. I just really like almond, so I was disappointed. I’ve tried adding vanilla almond milk to it, and it certainly didn’t help anything. I’m not easily impressed by flavored black teas, so …. yeah. The dogs weren’t impressed when I let them sniff it either, and they like tea ;)

Hmm…I was just taken by surprise by the smell of this cup. It almost felt like I had gone back to the days of kindergarten. Why? Well it smelt almost exactly like Play Doh!!! It’s not that I really remember the smell of Play Doh from almost 20 years ago(there goes my age) but it definitely did seem to have some correlation. The smell might not be so bad for some people, but for me; I just can’t get the idea of drinking clay out of my head! Anyways, the taste of the tea wasn’t as bad, the almond was there although it’s not a strong roasted almond taste. Very subtle. I tried this with some milk the second time and it definitely killed some of the scent, so I will have to experiment with less tea and more milk to entirely kill the scent. What an experience :S

So yeah, I figured out that I can only drink this with lots of milk(~50%) to mask the Play Doh smell.

I’m really not big on flavored teas, but I love almond so I figured I’d give this one a try. Definitely has a heavy almond extract/amaretto thing going, in a good way. Has a nice natural sweetness and creaminess. I’m really enjoying this cup a lot.
