First tea from my last Amoda box. And unfortunately, the only tea of the four that interested me – I am reminded of the reason I’d cancelled my subscription in the first place (the other three are herbal or green, and one has mint. Bleh.)

Sadly, this tea is also a bit of a let down. It smells ok, like a rich chocolate cake, but the flavour is kind of odd – though perhaps it’s because it isn’t sweet at all. That’s not necessarily a problem, but for a Chocolate Cake tea, it’s unexpected. It ends up being kind of bitter alongside the unsweet chocolate, making it not the tastiest. I’ll have to give it a try with some sweetener.

I think chocolate is a tricky flavor to get right…then again, to me chocolate should taste like thick, fudgy buttercream. That’s a little hard to replicate in a tea :)
