I received this in a swap from Auggy. Thanks so much!!! I am so excited to try everything! : ) Now, the review!

I took this with me to work today because I have been having busy weeks and didn’t want to miss out on trying it! I am on a coconut roll lately, so this, in theory, fit right in to what I was craving.

The smell of the tea bag reminded me sun block. I guess that mango and coconut are the scents that are generally used to make you want to slop on the greasy, thick white cream and protect your skin from the sun. I didn’t think this was a bad thing, just a strong correlation that came to mind every time I sniffed it. No hint of oolong though…

I steeped it for the shorter time recommended on the envelope. The smell was as tropical as a day lying in the sand sipping a cold drink in the sun with a good book could be. Now is when I catch a whiff of something oolongy in the scent. Ah, so it is tea and not just flavoring after all! The licqour was a light greenish orange that hinted towards brown.

Unsweetened, it tasted like sunblock with a bit of Oolong, with none of the sweet aftertaste which is what I love about Oolong… Sweetened it tasted tropical and enjoyable, a hint of Oolong, and an aftertaste of sour instead of the smooth, sweet finish that I have grown to expect from Oolongs. It is the sour in the aftertaste that made this tea not a winner for me.

The second steep (1 min longer) tasted exactly like a watered down version of the first steep. Drinkable, but not a tea I would re-steep if I have it again.

All in all, I am happy that I got to try it! I really am! I did enjoy drinking it, but there are sooo many other good coconut teas that I could be drinking instead… I do not think I will be purchasing this, though I will have another cup of it tomorrow (maybe iced…)

Tea #3 from the ’Here’s Hoping’ teabox.

I’ve seen this tea in the store and been tempted on several occasions to buy a box, but I’ve always passed it by. Since it was in the teabox I decided to brew a cup in my travel mug before going out to run errands.

The taste was mostly mango with the faint flavor of coconut slipping in on occasion. I’d take a sip, think that it was nice, and then continue on with my errands. While it wasn’t a mind blowing tea I would definitely drink it again if offered. As far as tea bags go, this one is more than decent. In fact, I probably will buy a box the next time I’m at the store because I like to carry tea bags in my purse for “tea emergencies”. I’m sure I’m not the only one. ;-)

This flavour combination grabbed my interest after trying one of Robert Wemischner’s tea frappes (oolong, mango and apriums). Unfortunately this stunning blend is really let down by the weird mulched tea “leaves”. The mango taste is apparant straight away, with the creamy coconut lingering afterwards. Can someone please make this blend with proper tea?

I went Starbucking this morning at (Park and 48th)
I got my tall hot water and added a dash of milk and sugar.
This tea tasted like coconut.
I like that Stash teas are foil sealed with staple, and bag.
I’m drink half of it hot and half on the rocks.
I think this is my only oolong that I have in my collection.
So I’ll tell you more about this Starbucks location:
(Park and 48th)
This a high volume starbucks that is a bit slower due to outside construction. There is a worker who yells the order from the queue to the drink makers.
There a long communial table here.
The peeps here are mostly suits, and fewer tourists than other Starbucks.
There way a guy with a laptop today showing another guy some stock market charts and explaining some stock charts.
There was a woman seated next to me. She had a large diamond ring, and didn’t throw her Starbucks sleeve in the trash.
There were two women in their 20’s. One had some large iced drink the other had a short drink. They were talking about traveling. One woman talked with her nose.
This Starbucks location is currently under construction.

12/6/2012 – I’ve been drinking this tea, guests who stop over the house have been drinking this. I’ve upped the rating, and it’s actually pretty good. I will have to investigate more Stash teas.

Backlogging from last week… this was on sale and sounded different, so I thought I’d try it. I’m not a mango fan at all so I this blend could’ve gone either way but I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t love it but it wasn’t disappointing either. I didn’t get much coconut out of it but the mango note was actually kind of nice. Normally Stash teas don’t do much for me so this is one of the best blends of theirs I’ve tried. Next time I drink this, I’ll review AS I’m drinking so it’s a little more coherent but for now I’ll just say that I wasn’t sorry I bought this!

Still pretty “meh” about this one. At least it’s different from everything else I usually drink, but I’m still on the fence and don’t really know what rating to give it. I might give in and try some sweetener in it next time.

I’m wearing a BPAL oil today with a coconut note in it, so I was in the mood for something coconutty when I picked out my tea for the day. This is really hitting the spot today, I have to say! Nice and summery, light but caffeinated. Perfect!

I’ve had this tea more than a few times now, and I just don’t really know how to rate it. I like it, but I don’t love it, but for some reason I can’t quite put a number on how much I like it! The coconut is fairly strong (which I love), but I don’t care much for mango so it’s kind of like two steps forward and one back. Nice enough on a cold morning like today, but I don’t ever crave it.

I enjoyed this tea – it had a nice tropical taste, mostly mango with a light coconut flavor. I think I added a bit too much honey though, and it may have overpowered some of the flavor of the tea. I think I’ll try a touch of sugar next time.

I do believe that this is the only tea that stash makes in a tea bag that I like. You can taste and smell the coconut. You can tell there is fruit in it but I can’t tell which one, they say mango. The oolong does taste like oolong. Its an ok tea but nothing to write home about. Its also the only tea my wife drinks with any regularity which is why its in my cupboard.

hmm, the rating for this tea was a lot higher BEFORE I bought this. This was another tea I thought I’d try when I stocked up on teas from LuckyVitamin. It sounded great. This isn’t bad, but it seems a bit bitter to me. It smells like coconut but the mango isn’t there in flavor or scent. All the oolongs I’ve tried are different, so I’m not sure how the flavor should be as an oolong! I’m kind of disappointed with this one.

The times I’ve had this since have been better, just as long as you DON’T oversteep it! This is probably the worst tea for oversteeping!

Yum. Mild flavor that seems to come out when Iced. I just wish I could have enjoyed it on a beach somewhere instead of at work out of a styrofoam cup.

Got this in a swap recently, and threw it into a travel mug before heading out to run errands.

Smells like coconut. Tastes coconutty and like a milk oolong a little, although not at all as complex. The fruit didn’t come out at all for me. Weird!

It tasted like a mild Oolong with fruity notes, I enjoyed it…twice. Nice color. I’d grab this one if it was on sale.

I definitely tasted the mango, but the coconut seemed to hide from me. It was definitely fruity, which I like, but it seemed mild… I may not have steeped it long enough. One of the better ones I’ve tried by Stash, though.

My son and I were daring, decided to buy this while out Christmas shopping.
Great coconut aroma, and then great mango flavor with a hint of coconut aftertaste that doesn’t stay too long on the tongue. The box said it had orange peel in it, but no orange detected at all. I think this would be great iced, might try that this summer if the box lasts that long.

I enjoyed this mild tea. It has a nice fruity coconut flavor.

So light and fragrant and fruity and sweet and delicious. Definitely a good, inexpensive, summertime tea.

I tried this tea for the first time tonight. I bought it when I was obsessed with finding a fruity tea and it happened to catch my eye. It is a good combination and good tasting tea, but I didn’t find that either mango nor coconut stood out for me as separate flavours on their own. Overall, it’s an okay tea, but it isn’t going to become a go-to for me.

I like that you can taste both the mango and coconut – nice and smooth. I enjoy with a little milk.

This is a really tropical tea. Fruity, fresh, and fun! I sometimes add a little sugar (Teavana’s rock sugar).

You can definitely taste and smell coconut in it. There’s a soft rusticness to it. It’s a little more agressive than my normal teas but I’m definitely loving it this afternoon, while it’s powering me through a slow last hour and half of my work day.
