From Stash Tea Company

Some names are just perfect, and that’s the case for Yumberry, a truly yummy fruit that’s been grown and appreciated in Asia for more than 2,000 years. Yumberry’s flavor is intriguingly sweet and sour with flavor notes similar to cranberry and pomegranate. Blackcurrants have a sweet, berry flavor that naturally enhances the delicious flavor of this tea.

Ingredients: hibiscus, rosehips, lemongrass, yumberry flavor, chicory root, blackcurrant flavor, blackcurrant powder, and licorice powder. Contains: Soy

This brews up to a beautiful purple-red colour, and smells very fruity after brewing, though the hibiscus smell is strong. It is the first ingredient in this tea. I did make this with a tsp of sugar because I know that I will taste nothing but hibiscus otherwise.

I think what I taste most strongly is the yumberry, though I have not had this berry before and it is just a guess. The black currant is next and it almost has a cloying taste to it that lingers into the aftertaste. I can feel the taste even in the corners of my mouth it is a bit overwhelming. I’m not sure if I like this or not but next time I try it will be with half the sugar.

I didn’t taste anything yummy about this yumberry. The flavor was a bit weak and there was something weird here that I’m guessing was the licorice powder.. There seemed to be a lot of ingredients here for such a weak tea.
