Everest First Flush Nepalese

Black Tea by Stash Tea Company

This easy to drink, delightful tea is golden in the cup, very smooth and light bodied with a slightly sweet aftertaste.

The Everest Tea Estate is located at 5000 feet in Nepal’s central Himalayas. The estate cultivates tea bushes on 4000 acres of lush, virgin land. The tea bushes here are quite young — 4 to 6 years old, and as such, produce tender leafs. Ideal growing conditions — pure mountain air, the right combination of sun and shade, and abundant rain, help to produce an exquisite black tea, processed in the traditional Orthodox method.

The Everest Tea Estate supports the principals of Fair Trade and Equal Opportunity Employment. The tea estate also provides social services, health care and schools for the surrounding villages

Steeping Instructions: 3-5 minutes at 190-209 degrees Fahrenheit

Mild astringency, slightly bitter at the back of my throat, though I didn’t put as much sugar into this black tea as I usually do so that might be why. Strong mineral note throughout. I don’t like the aftertaste but I can’t quite put my finger on what I don’t like about it.

Overall a mild-medium black tea with not too much notable about it. I don’t like it, but I don’t hate it either.
