White Peach Oolong Tea

Fruit Oolong Blend by Stash Tea Company

Oolong is between black and green tea in taste and color. The best oolong tea in the world gros in the mists and fertile ground of the Wuyi Mountains of China’s Fujian Province. Our luscious White Peach Oolong blends this remarkable tea with ripe, juicy, 100% natural peach flavor — truly a delight for the senses. Savor our White Peach Oolong — it’s like an afternoon on the porch.

I ripped open the bag and was blasted with a sunshine-y whiff of juicy peach. YUM! Once brewed, the peachy bliss scent lingered for a spell but then faded like a sunset.

First sip. Uh, hello? Where’s the peach?! This one smells much more peachy than it tastes! There isn’t much oolong taste either. Just like bland tea that someone melted a Popsicle in.

Second sip. More Popsicle flavor. Decent. But NOT what I want in a peach tea. I guess by “white peach” I should assume less flavor. Rename this “Clear” or “Transparent Peach,” ’cause flavor is what this lacks.

It does SMELL good though – perhaps I can use it as a potpourri?

TTB Tea #2

1 bag (2.22g)/6oz purified water served hot and neat.

I originally set the timer for 5 min (they suggest 3-5), but by 3 min the liquor was a quite dark burnt orange-ish brown so I decided to stop there. That wasn’t too surprising since the tea began smelling strongly of peaches (in they jelloy sense) as soon as the bag hit the water.

The flavor, thankfully, is not jelloy. Yes, there is a strong peachy flavoy that does in some aspects remind me of unset jello, but the oolong base is quite strong which saves it from being hot jello. A very good tea- one I appreciated drinking and would willingly drink again, but due to the vast aray of teas out there I won’t be adding this to my staples or even my “rebuy eventually” list.

Long time no see…
So long, I’ve forgotten how to really think in tea…
So I drank this. It was good and warm and peachy. But I have no idea how to go about describing a oolong. A bit drying, astringent as it is. I like its slight bitterness, I may have over brewed it but I like it like that.
Hrummmm…I can’t listen to podcasts and type, and I ran out of tea to really dissect the taste when actually paying attention. $5 I’ll be slacking off more tomorrow, so I’ll make a better attempt at this.
On the absolutely generic level, I like it!

Tried this on a suggestion of my wife. Overall this is pretty tasty tea. Reminds me a lot of Lipton’s peach ice tea that you buy in the store….minus the sweetness. Not bad for a three dollar box of tea.

A predictably disappointing oolong from this teabag. I had to laugh when I ripped open said teabag to find some unidentifiable mulch. There is a peach aroma with an orange flavour, but I don’t think bagged fannings of oolong leaves really work.

I selected a bag of this tea out of the Traveling Tea Box. I needed some tea on the fly this morning, so I went for the quick teabag approach. This tea isn’t awful by any means, but it isn’t going to knock anyone’s socks off either. It has a very light but pleasant peach aroma and taste. I’m not finding any depth to this tea, and the oolong that Stash used is about 5 kinds of bland. But it’s not awful…there’s just much better tea out there. As my cup cooled down, the taste was much sweeter and juicier. It would probably make a lovely iced tea if you made a fierce concentration of it first. This was a refreshing cup…I’ll give it that. Not too shabby for a bagged tea.

The smell of this tea is delightfully peachy and conjures up images of sweet, ripe fruit, that’s dripping with juice when you bite into it on a hot summer day. Mmmm…

The taste was surprisingly light and delicate without any of the biscuity/baked flavour I’m used to tasting in oolongs. But then again, I’m not exactly an expert with this type of tea – if there was a ‘Oolongs For Dummies’ I’d totally be there! Suffice to say I have no idea what a Wuyi oolong is supposed to be like, so I’ll skip that and just evaluate it on it’s own.

The flavour is smooth, sweet and fruity and the peach isn’t overwhleming. It tastes very natural unlike some flavoured teas which taste like someone dumped in a bottle of perfume. I’d say this is probably my favorite Stash tea to date.

I loves me some tastey peach Wuyi oolong tea. :D <3

Backlogging from earlier today.

I’m curious; for those of you who have tried this tea before, does it remind you of any particular type of oolong?

I steeped it a touch longer than normal and I am noticing a bit of astringency starting to come out. Interestingly I’d not tasting any sweetness as this tea cools like I do with other, better quality oolong teas. shrugs

Go see my older tasting notes on this tea. :)

I’ve been thinking that this might be a nice tea to try iced. Has anyone tried icing oolongs? Usually it’s just black, green or fruit teas I’ve heard people mention.

Too tired to write anything meaningful. I’m off to bed. Guh.

Mmmm, peachy-keen.

Sorry, I’m just not feeling terribly creative or verbose today. :/

Brewed, with the mug just sitting to one side, I can SMELL the peach without even putting my nose in it. But leaning in, I also smell something… vaguely reminiscent of that Ginger Twist. I had a look of HORROR on my face there for a moment. I’m sure I scrubbed my mug well! Nooo.

Can’t really smell the tea. I think I do. Hmm.

Woah. The taste reminds me of peach wine. I’m serious. The peach isn’t that ‘fruity peach’ taste, but that ‘fermented wine’ taste. All it really needs is that alcoholic taste. Huh. Maybe I should steep it for a bit longer. I only did three minutes of the “three to five”.

The best thing about understeeping, I suppose, is that you can always just put the bag back in.

Longer steep… Doesn’t do much. Slightly stronger taste of the oolong I think. Not the peach, though. Still has a serious sort of ‘wine’ taste. Especially at the edge of my tongue. How odd. Unsure how to rate it.

Contains Wuyi oolong tea, orange peel, lemongrass, and white peach flavor. When you tear open the envelope you are immediately surrounded by flowery, sweet, fruity goodness. The aroma in the cup is a little more subdued but wonderful. Upon sipping the white peach flavor is very obvious. Not in an overwhelming way but just right. The other ingredients support the peach very well. For another grossly undersized Stash bag this is pretty good.

Well, I notice my last tasting note says three years ago. Have I been here that long? Oh, and holy cow is this bag that old? sip sip, Uhmm why yes, yes, it is. I loved this when it was fresh. Not so much now. sip down 112.

This tea is…rustic? That’s the word that comes to mind when I drink this tea, the peach is nice and the tea is nice, but it seems a bit rough around the edges, but in a good way!

Meh. The tea itself is okay, but the peach is a bit candy-like and is perhaps a bit overwhelming. I also smoke hookahs, and this reminds me A LOT of your typical peach sheesha. I broke open a bag and remembered why I don’t like stash…. looks like 3/8th cut grass, 5/8th dust. I see a few people commenting about the peach scent diminishing, and this is correct- perhaps a 60 second aroma. It’s not a bad tea though, and I think that if you are a fan of those fruity teas then you’ll probably like this.

TL;DR: I am going to finish the box. I will never buy this tea again.

Generally unremarkable. Light peach flavor. Didn’t pay close attention while drinking.

I am cooling the second half of my cups in hopes that the iced version will “wow” me where the hot did not.

The peach aroma was quite strong when I opened the bag. Without milk or sugar, the oolong taste is dominant, and the peach flavor is missing or very subtle. Adding the milk and sugar, the oolong flavor gets lost, and the peach dominates. The peach is a nice flavor, but I don’t think it meshes with the oolong tea very well. The flavor improved when cold – I think it might be good as an iced tea.

This has a nice peach taste with abit of white tea and perhaps abit of oolong. I think this is pretty good.

The peach aroma and flavor is really strong— so strong I can barely pick out the “oolong-ness”. That aside add some sugar to bring out the sweetness of the peach and you should be good to go…

Light and fruity tea with a pleasant aroma that’s not too cloying. Makes an excellent iced tea, too!

Great tea to have on a summer afternoon! I’m thinking it would also make a delicious iced tea…

Prior to steeping this smells like a Peach Wine almost. Lovely Scent, really. During/After Steep more Peach scent candy. The coloring is a light to medium brown. It’s lighter than I thought it would be but that is ok because I think it works well. I like this blend. Thirst Quenching, even. Thumbs Up!

This smelled like a Peach Champagne today…lovely. Probably my last cup of the workday. YAY!

I’ll never stop LOVING the smell of this! It’s pretty darned good to sip, too!

Great hot and cold. Nom, Nom, Nom

I’m still amazed at how much this smells like natural juicy peaches! Awesome! Great Cuppa!
