Mango Passionfruit

Fruit Herbal Blend by Stash Tea Company

To create our Mango Passionfruit herbal tea, we’ve taken fruity herbs such as rosehips, orange peel, hibiscus and lemongrass, and combined them with the naturally sweet flavor of mango and the tropical flavor of passionfruit. The result is a colorful and aromatic blend that brews up a bright red-orange in the cup with the distinct, exotic flavor of fresh mangos and passionfruits. It is delicious hot or iced and naturally caffeine free.

I know I said I was done with herbal blends, but I got this in a sampler from KeenTeaThyme, and decided to give it a go anyway. My previous experiences with Stash have been good, after all.

It smells very tart and citrusy, plus some other fruity scent that reminds me of hibiscus. The flavor does remind me of mango, but there’s just so much else going on. I mean, it’s pleasant, and there is something sweet in it that’s close to passionfruit. But mostly, this just tastes like an orangey Celestial Seasonings Zinger.

I agree with others that it gets better as it cools. Not sure why, but it’s true.

I had this tea this morning in my mom’s office.

I didn’t taste mango at all, I tasted tart passionfruit.

I didn’t really like it, but it wasn’t bad enough to make me want to not finish it. I think it would have been better with some sweetener.

Too tired after work to fuss with loose leaves tonight, so this is the first bagged herbal I grabbed out of my tea chest. Cringed a little when I saw “licorice powder” in the ingredients, but surprise! it’s hiding behind the nice fruit flavor. This one’s worth repeating. I’ll have to go paw through my collection to see if there are any extra bags lurking around.

It’s cold and lead-balloon cloudy, I’m working on a writing assignment that’s about to wring me dry , and I needed a little internal sunshine. This is cheerful and fruity without being too tart—-now where’s a sun lamp?

Herbal of the night. Lots of mango flavor, but the passionfruit seems to be missing. Sweet, fruity, juicy. Ah, the passionfruit comes out as the tea cools. Now it’s lots of passionfruit with the mango coming in at the end of the sip. As far as bagged teas go this one isn’t bad.

I love mango like I love peaches. So this tea was a “MUST TRY”. Preparing it like I do with all my herbal teas. I awaited for the smell of the contains in the pouch was pleasant. My first attempt to taste its revealing nectar the tea was still hot (stupid me). My actual first sip was greeted by mango. The mango flavor from the liquor was not strong or little, but inviting upon my pallet. It was completed with a bitter taste that left me puzzled. Was this the taste of the passion fruit? I waited some more to see if letting it cool would make a difference. This was better for you had the mango with a touch of passion fruit. I will say that this tea is not one to serve or drink when hot. Let it cool for a few minutes to enjoy its liquor.

This was delicious! I’ve always had a fondness for a fruity tea, and this one definitely had me impressed. I made sure that it was cooled down after seeing recommendations that you definitely wanted to wait, and was greeted by the pleasant taste of passionfruit. The mango was definitely understated in comparison, but this is definitely a tea that is staying on my shelf. Yummy!

It’s not bad. I just don’t love it. I don’t taste a whole lot in the mug, no flavours stand out. Not sweet. Not bitter. Pretty colour, but blah tea. Will drink if it’s around, but no re-buy here.

Had a nice bright yuellow cup of this today, my last day as the receptionist. Yay!

I still don’t get mango or passionfruit from this tea. I get an initially sweet taste of some sort with a tart finish on the sip. Not terrible, but not what it claims to be.

Made this a few minutes ago and totally forgot about it. Was daydreaming about a tea I’ve never even tasted. I am starting to worry that my want for more tea will never end!

After lunch tea. I think it’s time to change out some of my work teas. Everything is too fruity! Where is the mint?

It’s been a while for this one. Not a favourite, but I bought it and most tea deserves to be drank. I steeped for a shorter time today hoping to avoid hibiscus (just not in the mood for it) and the flavour has come out very light. not really a whole lot of anything, just a light flavoured bright yellow herbal. Meh.

There’s a point in the steep where this goes from nice and mild to tart and over-bearing. Somewhere in the 3 minute range, I find. Still not an exceptional tea, but certainly passable. Won’t buy again, what with all the delicious loose tea to be had, but I would snag one off a freebie tray for sure : )

Still don’t feel the need to re-buy this one. I will drink what I have, but playing with steep times hasn’t made the tea any more interesting (except for the colour, which starts out neon yellow and settles down to a lovely yellow orange. But colour shouldn’t matter, right? :D )

Not the best mango tea I’ve ever had but still nice. It has a lovely fragrance and color. The taste isn’t overly sweet and there is no bitterness. The fruit flavor is more of an aftertaste then a full flavor. Despite other people’s comments, I prefer this tea hot. It seems a little sour to me when it cools. However, I would drink this again.

This kinda reminds me of another passionfruit infused tea I’ve had in the past… it seems that with all these fruity herbal blends, if there’s passionfruit, it’s the most prominent flavor. WHY. I was a little disappointed because I love mango but I really got none of it! Not awful, but too tart and bitter for me.

Smells like some type of delicious baked good containing citrus peel, but ultimately I’d rather have that baked good than this tea. I taste more of the passionfruit than the mango on this one. It’s good, compared to a lot of Stash’s other fruity blends. Like the others, it contains licorice (oh Loki why) but I can’t sense it at all. I don’t get a fake taste like I do with some of the others, either. Overall: I’ll drink it, but I wouldn’t purchase it myself.

I’m not sure why i keep drinking Stash teas – I don’t find them fruity enough my liking. Perhaps it is because they use “flavor” instead of actual dried fruit…

Nice clean taste. This is a herbal tea so I drank it with Touch Organic Mango Green Tea. They taste great together.

I’m normally a black tea drinker but someone at work gave me a bag of this after I gave her onr of the double bergamot earl grey.

It was just ok for me. I didn’t really taste mango which is too bad because I love mangoes. I think I prefer flavoured rooibos teas to other herbal blends.

I occasionally add some milk into my tea for a bubble/milk tea effect. Did it for this tea and the result made me actually want to throw up.

But a few weeks later, the memory has faded and decided to give this tea another chance. Much better. :)

Fruity and yummy, but not terrible or amazing. It’s nice as a morning cuppa, but not something I’d drastically been looking for.

Amazing fruity scent while brewing, and yummy cup of tea.
I like to add just a touch of honey, it really brings out the fruity flavors.

I couldn’t really taste any mango or passion fruit distinctly – mostly all I could taste was the safflower (which isn’t unpleasent mind you). I might just need to steep it longer so I’ll reserve judgement until then.

You know, with a bit less steeping some of the fruit flavour does come out a bit more, and if I concentrate it actually is sort of mango-y. Still a pretty ‘Meh’ tea with too much hibiscus in it.

Backlogging from last night. If only this tea tastes like it smells; the scent is probably the most mango-y part of the tea.

Fruity but not really what I’d called mango or passionfruit though, sadly. I want to love this tea but it’s just not doing that much for me.

This may or may not be the last bag of this tea – I’ll have to check the tea cupboard tomorrow. Anyways if anyone wants to know my thoughts about this tea please read my previous steeping notes about it. :)

I like this tea now that I’ve steeped it longer. The fruitiness comes out more and the tart bitterness of the safflower and hibiscus isn’t nearly so pronounced.

Lovely aroma when steeping. A bit of tart taste when drinking but not overwhelming. Light taste of mango. Nice summery infusion.

Perfect for a Saturday morning marking a sneak preview of summer!

I’m getting really boring, you can tell I only have 4 teas in my apartment.

The tartness slightly parallels my level of annoyance of having to work most of Sunday.

Good to kick me into bed after a 13-hour work day…

tart enough for heart (break)

When you first open the individually wrapped teabag the scent is pretty over the top…smells like a fresh bottle of fruity sweet wine. Once it’s steeping it loses much of it’s scent. It’s lighter in color. The taste is a good fruity flavor with OUT being bitter. I’m usually not into many Fruit-Like Blends because they tend to be a little much (or bitter or too sour) but this one is pretty good and I am sure it would be even better iced.
