Coconut Grove

White Tea by Steep City Teas

Pai mu tan white tea, rose buds, natural flavors, and blue mallow flowers.

Tropical yet sophisticated, fun yet delicate. This white coconut blend evokes the essence of Miami’s oldest neighborhood, Coconut Grove. If you have not visited it, when you come to Miami make sure you do. A soothing, velvety blend of coconut shreds and rose buds for that special delicate taste that makes Coconut Grove one of our finest blends.

I love coconut and I love rose, but I never thought of putting them together! Tropical and floral, it sounds good but I was on the fence about ordering it… until I saw Steep City’s Citrus Sunshine Oolong. Of course I can’t order just one tea, so into the cart this went!

This is a beautiful blend, fluffy leaves and whole rosebuds. It smells very coconutty but not very rosy, a lot like Persimmon Tree’s Coconut Creme. I already have a lot of creamy coconut teas, so I was hoping this would be different once brewed.

And indeed it is! The coconut is smooth and tropical, but still quite light and airy, in part I’m sure because of the white base. The rose is subtle, but still there! There’s just a hint of floral rose at the end of the sip. I think this is probably my favorite coconut blend that I’ve tried so far!

Mmm, this tea is solid! I’m thinking I’m going to do another SteepCity order soon! Very impressed with their teas!
I’ve been drinking this one for 2 days while watching korean dramas.

Coconut grove is very sweet and coconutty! The taste is like big fresh, slippery slabs of coconut over top juicy sweet fruity white tea. The white tea is very flavorful and sweet. The floral is light here.

Coconut Grove gives me the impression of something sophisticated classic, with a bit of romance – but with a bit of modern hip from the coconut flavoring. If you like coconut and sweeter teas, you’ll love this one!

I love this tea! I’m sipping this, with a sore tummy, after each sip going “ugggbblllelecccggg” with tummy pains. Really good tea though – nice sweet white and coconut with a lovely floral! This tea and Blushing Geisha, are my ultimate favs from Steep City so far!

I’ve been eating so many of the strawberries I got from the strawberry festival, that I think my body has had enough. Doesn’t help I ate lunch today and yesterday of just only huge amounts of strawberry. And all my snacks were strawberries.

Time to admit defeat and freeze the rest of the strawberries.

This tea is so addictive! I’m getting a little savory graham crust taste with this cup for some reason. The coconut and juicy sweet white bai mu dan is still present.

I need to do another SteepCity order soon, though I’m wondering if I should get some tea ware instead. Argg, need a bigger tea budget, lol!

Having a nice strong cup of Coconut Grove. So coconutty with a delicious white tea base with a hint of rose. The tea tastes so snuggly for me this morning, if that makes sense.

I’m rating bumping this tea because I want to drink this all the time as it has become my favorite coconut tea so far!

I love coconut white teas. I’m super psyched about this one because the white coconut creme tends to be the one everywhere, and while good, I’m loving the idea of a rose coconut tea even more!

This is so good. I love that I can taste the white tea so much. The other usual coconut white can almost make me feel like coconut shreds are in the tea with its powerful coconut-ness. This one perfectly melds the white tea with the coconut. It’s sweet, a little creamy, and just all around awesome.

I don’t get too much rose, but it does taste like there might be just a little bit of a floral note.

Love this for a coconut tea that’s just a bit more delicate tasting, I can’t wait to try more of what I ordered from Steep City now!

Coconut and rose? This could be love! Typically I’m not crazy about white teas, so we’ll see. While briefly researching this tea I discovered that it is named after Coconut Grove in Miami, so that ups the points in my book, haha, since I love Miami! The dry leaves are pretty, with big green tea leaves, rose buds and petite blue flowers. The tea itself smells floral, with just a little hint of coconut. The flavor is very light, with not much rose noticeable, just a light floral taste up front. The coconut in this tea is very authentic, probably the most real tasting coconut tea that I’ve had. It reminds me of the way a fresh coconut tastes. I don’t love this tea, but I don’t hate it either. I wouldn’t decline a cup if offered one, but I probably won’t seek it out either. It is a nice ode to Coconut Grove, though! Thank you to Alphakitty for this sample!

-Dry blend has large green tea leaves, large rose buds, small blue flowers and coconut slivers.
-Dry leaves smell faintly of coconut. Tea liquor aroma is sweetly floral with a hint of coconut.
-Tea liquor is a clear medium yellow color.
-Grassy and floral flavor with a wispy nutty finish. Light fresh coconut aftertaste.
-Best with sweetener.
-Fair tea. Lightly flavored with a very fresh coconut taste.
