I felt like having iced tea today. Iced tea! It was 65 when I had it, so it was worthwhile. I had the windows open, and Sebastian communicated with a sparrow.

This is super fruity, and I love that they used green rooibos so that it’s the perfect iced tea. Papaya is the strongest fruit flavor I can taste.

I will definitely be cold brewing this one once it stays warm. I love fruity iced teas and I’ve been missing green rooibos. Nothing beats it as an iced tea for me.

Is Sebastian a kitty?

Cute! I have a kitty named Sebastian, though my only photos of him online are on facebook. If this doesn’t work and you actually want to see a picture, I can try something else but here it is (I’m pretty sure my facebook is open to the public). http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10200273087532935&set=pb.1325757342.-2207520000.1361804300&type=3&theater

He’s the black one.

This is a really nice iced tea.

2:1 ratio of tea to sugar.
8 tsps of tea; 4 tsps of rock sugar in my 32 oz Mist Iced Tea Jug from DAVIDsTEA.

It’s not overly sweet and the fruits all blend together. If I concentrate, I can tease apart the different flavors (mango, papaya, and citrus) but they work really well. Papaya is definitely the strongest and easiest to detect flavor but the mango and citrus are definitely there.

Refreshing. I don’t think I’d like this hot very much, but iced, it is definitely a winner.

This is a belated review of the last of my Steep City samples from a few months ago. I think this is also my favorite of the samples. I like green rooibos a lot, and I’m always interested in trying blends that use it as a base.

This blend is very fruity – the fruit flavoring is definitely dominant. I can still taste the rooibos, but only barely. Fruit-wise, nothing particular is jumping out at me. Looking at the ingredients, though, papaya and (dried) mango sound about right. I don’t taste any rose (no great loss to me) or passion fruit (more disappointing, since passion fruit is one of my favorite flavors). The blend is also quite sweet. I’m drinking it hot, but I’m sure it would be nice iced as well.

On the whole, the flavor profile is not dissimilar to those of a few other fruity green rooibos blends I can think of (Jardin Sauvage from Lupicia and Sweet Nectar from Sullivan Street Tea and Spice). I won’t be purchasing this at the moment since I’ve got quite a bit of both of those others in stock, but I’ll definitely consider doing so in the future when my supply needs replenishing. Thanks to Steep City Teas for this sample!

This is a pretty decent tea. I made it hot first and it was all right (I can definitely taste the fun fruits; I’m not good at telling mango and papaya apart in tea form, but I can definitely tell one or both of them was there!). I made the rest of my sample iced with a bit of rock sugar, and it was also good. Good, but not great. It wasn’t very strong and I steeped the tea for a while, so perhaps these fruits just don’t have as potent a flavor when made into tea as other fruits.

(Sample from silentrequiem. Thanks!)

An excellent iced tea! Flirt With me is a green rooibos with mango, papaya, passion fruit and rose petals. The flavor is mostly the tropical fruits – the mango papaya blend nicely together, and there is quite a bit of passion fruit flavor (if iced).
The green rooibos is in the background, but has a nice brothy green earthyness to it. The blend is a little watery, but that seems to happen with rooibos blends, but is countered if prepared iced and heavier on the tea.

Pretty good – the price is right ($4.50 for 2oz) and makes a tasty iced tea. I’ll be drinking this all summer!
