This is a very traditional chai in terms of taste and character with cinnamon and cardamom being the primary notes. It never goes over the line of being too spicy, instead it’s a nice, soothing drink with a bit of a bite – just enough to warm me up on a cold winter morning.
Monsoon Chai
This call of the chaiwallahs greets our train, a sound as familiar as the falling monsoon rains. I find myself with a tiny clay cup of sweet milky tea, whose spices are warm and welcoming. As the train departs, I throw my cup to the ground, returning it to the cycle of life.
AROMA: Spicy with nuanced sweetness
PALATE: Full-bodied with spice, with some acidityCeylon estate black teas (blended for malty robust character), fragrant cinnamon bark, spicy cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, licorice, crisp ginger, herbs, flavours. Moderate caffeine.
