From T2

Description: Chocolate lovers rejoice. This decadent brew will satisfy all your chocolate cravings without the guilt! Made from 100% pure cocoa bean husks, the flavour is unmistakably chocolate, but with a hint of elegant subtlety. Add steamed milk, and this brunette brew transforms itself into one of the best hot chocolate’s you’ll ever taste (and one of the healthiest!). It’s oh-so easy to go loco for this cocoa!

Brew: 1 tsp per 250mls, brew 100 degrees for 5-7 mins

Serve: Hot

Ingredients: Cocoa bean husks

Enjoy: Perfect on its own, or add steamed milk for a healthy hot chocolate

Another T2 sample that’s a huge let down. I’d been looking forward to trying this one and I almost ordered a cube of it a few weeks ago when I made my last T2 purchase. I’m glad I didn’t bother. All I get from this tea is slightly chocolate flavoured water. Perhaps this is a steeping issue (I brewed mine for 7 minutes; possibly it needs longer) but I really don’t get a lot from drinking this. The cooler it gets, the weaker the chocolate becomes, and I’m basically sipping just water now. Definitely not on my shopping list tomorrow!

This smells amazing while steeping, with a velvety-rich chocolate and milk fragrance. But is basically tastes like weak cocoa, or in my case, weak cocoa with a dash of milk. I quite like weak cocoa late at night, but I would save my money by just buying the real thing. Still, very impressed by the smell!

Seeing a lot of negative reviews on this tea, however I think the issue is brew time. With all teas that don’t contain actual tea leaves (so not black/white/green) I brew them from a longer period of time to a) really let them infuse and b) get the most out of my tea. Coco Loco is purely coco husks, which is fantastic if you’re looking for a dairy free chocolate drink. It honestly does taste just like chocolate if you brew it this way, for at least ten minutes to really get the flavour to come out. This tea is great blended with others e.g. Yerba Mate, and I make it at home with T2 Chilli Kiss and frothed milk. I just love knowing I’m getting a delicious chocolate flavour without the sugar, dairy and added chemicals. Big thumbs up from me! :)

I did not taste ANY chocolate , all I could taste was water. It has absolutely no flavour despite me doubling the amount used.

As mentioned in my tasting note about Cocoa Loco Orange, this smells delicious but doesn’t live up to it in flavour. Very watery when brewed in accordance with the instructions. I suggest doubling the amount of tea and brewing time and use hot milk instead of cold.
