Just like our other green tea offering, and despite its name, this tea is not made in Taiwan. It is made from a Taiwanese tea cultivar, using taiwanese methods and machinery, by a Taiwanese Tea Master, but, established in Huang Shan, China. This is what makes this tea so distinctive and unique. It is a true New World tea made in one of the most traditionally renowned tea terroirs of China. Not only does it borrow in character to the prestigious Huang Shan Mao Feng Green Tea that made this area famous but it also blends in typically Taiwanese notes and accents as can be referenced in Taiwanese local made green teas, as well as the lightly oxidized Bao Zhong teas in taste and appearance, and even to the expressive High Mountain Oolong teas with which it shares its famous Cing Xin cultivar from which it is made. If you like any of the teas we just mentioned, you must try this green tea, especially if you are not so fond of green teas in general because of their grassiness. You will find this one smooth and round with light, almond like, sweet roasted accents, a good vegetal body and the flowery and balsam freshness of High Mountain Oolongs. It is a very rewarding sip as it is also generous in the number of infusions it will give you: another family resemblance with its cross-strait oolong cousins. Oh, and did we mention it was organically farmed? Very limited stock, get it while it lasts.
